Filling the Shelf – 183

Filling the Shelf simply is Mailbox Monday, but with a title that suits my blog! If you’re interested in joining the fun or seeing what other bloggers added to their shelves, click away! (but beware, visiting other mailboxes will probably add to your neverending wishlist!)

Good Monday dear readers!

It’s October! And with that, the R.I.P. challenge is halfway through. I’ve been doing good; in fact, I’m probably technically done if I include audiobooks! But excluding audiobooks, I’ve finished 3 of the 4 books I’m supposed to be reading for the challenge. I’ve reviewed 2 of them here (Paper Valentine by Brenna Yovanoff and Mind of Winter by Laura Kasischke), and I’ll do the third one this week. All good so far!

I also got some new books this week! 2 graphic novels I’d been eyeing for some time, as well as Bird Box, which has been intriguing me ever since it came out and was sitting pretty much at the top of my wishlist. The summary starts like this :

Something is out there, something terrifying that must not be seen. One glimpse of it, and a person is driven to deadly violence. No one knows what it is or where it came from.

Eek! It sounds perfect for this time of the year, and I plan on reading it really soon.

I also added The Fire Sermon, which I got on sale from Audible. To be honest, I hadn’t planned on reading this book before the sale. Not that it doesn’t sound good, because it does; but with so many books in the genre, you’ve got to make hard choices sometimes. But then came the sale, and I like the narrator, so I thought I’d give it a chance. Plus, the twins aspect sounds new and interesting.
