Top Ten Tuesday – Series I Want to Finish

Join Top Ten Tuesday at That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week  a new Top Ten list theme is posted and all bloggers are welcome to participate!

This week is a freebie, so I decided to list some of the series I haven’t finished yet – and hopefully will soon(ish). It’s mostly fantasy, though there’s a few other things too.

Here’s where I’m at with each of these series :

The Stone Sky (The Broken Earth, book 3) by N. K. Jemisin : I bought book 3 on release day (that’s August 15, 2017!), but I had loved the first two books so completely I got scared I wouldn’t enjoyed this last one as much. Now I probably need to reread 1 & 2 first!

The Dragon Republic (The Poppy War, book 2) by R. F. Kuang : The Poppy War was a lot of fun, if a little uneven in it’s pacing. I’ve heard great things about the sequels too.

The Girl in the Tower (The Winternight Trilogy, book 2) by Katherine Arden : The first book was a favorite; again, I got scared I wouldn’t enjoy the next ones, but I’d love to reread The Bear and the Nightingale and then continue on.

The Invasion of the Tearling (The Queen of the Tearling, book 2) by Erika Johansen : I read the first book as an ARC in 2014… I enjoyed it a lot and always meant to continue on!

Act Your Age, Even Brown (The Brown Sisters, book 3) by Talia Hibbert : I loved Get a Life, Chloe Brown but didn’t quite connect with Take a Hint, Dani Brown, so I’m curious to see how I’ll feel about the third and last one of this romance series.

King of Scars (King of Scars, book 1) by Leigh Bardugo : Okay, so this is technically book 1 of a series, but it is also part of the whole Grisha Universe and the next one I should be reading from this world.

The Light of All that Falls (The Licanius Trilogy, book 3) by James Islington : I’m being easy on myself by including this one, as I’m currently reading it. These books are huge so it will feel really good once I’ve completed it!

First Drop of Crimson (Night Huntress Word, book1/Night Huntress Universe, book 5) by Jeaniene Frost : Again, this is book 1 of a spinoff series with different characters, but I’ve been reading the Night Huntress Universe in chronological order and this is the next one on the list!

As Good As Dead (A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, book 3) by Holly Jackson : This one is out today! These YA thrillers are really entertaining as audiobooks and if you don’t take them too seriously.

When He Was Wicked (Bridgertons, book 6) by Julia Quinn : I reread/read the first 5 books in June, now would be a good time to complete this series!

  1. Some good choices and, like you, I really need to finish more than one series I have on the go.

  2. Oh, I’m also making my way through The Night Huntress series and I loved First Drop of Crimson! (Denise is awesome 🙂 ) Hope you’ll enjoy all of these!

  3. The only one on your list that I know of and want to read also is the The Winternight trilogy – I would definitely like to finish the series as well.

I find it’s hard to like book series because there is always one or two books that I didn’t like. I hope you’ll enjoy each and every one of these series.

Thank you for your visit. Have a lovely day.

  4. Act Your Age, Even Brown seems cute.

  5. I love the Jemisin series, the Tearling series, and all things Grishaverse. I did finish King of Scars, but now I need to re-read it before I tackle Rule of Wolves!

  6. I hope you enjoy these when you get the chance to read them.

  7. I always am happy, and sometimes sad, to finish a series. The only one in your group that I have read is most of The Bridgerton series.
Your list gives me several series to consider. Thanks and enjoy finishing them up.
