Welcome to Filling the Shelf, or as many of you know it, Mailbox Monday! If you’re interested in joining the fun or seeing what other bloggers added to their shelves, click away! (but beware, visiting other mailboxes will probably add to your neverending wishlist!)

Good Monday everyone!

Hope you had a good week. Here we had plenty of sun and I got to spend a lot of time outside. We worked in the yard, bought some flowers and planted a tiny crabapple tree! I look forward to seeing it grow.

My mailbox this week is small, both on audio. The Nanny is the only Gilly MacMillan I didn’t have on my shelves, so when I saw it was Audible’s daily deal, I immediately grabbed it.

Stay safe everyone! <3

The Nanny by Gilly MacMillan (audio) – Tarnished Are the Stars by Rosiee Thor (audio)

What did you add to your shelves this week?

  3. yay to warm weather and gardening. Enjoy your books, The Nanny sounds so good.

    • Good weather and gardening feels even better this year! Thank you 🙂

  4. Hi Kay,

I have to say that I am not a fan of audio books, but that’s purely a personal thing, because I don’t enjoy being read too!

However, you have highlighted an author in Gilly Macmillan, who I have had on my list for years, but just never got around to reading. ‘The Nanny’ sounds great, so I have added it to my list as a definite ‘To Read’, so thanks for the nudge.

I can’t remember when we last had a downpour, here in the south of the UK and there is no rain forecast for the foreseeable future. It is also as hot as mid-summer, so we are all waiting to see just how long it is before they call a water shortage and hosepipe ban, especially where all the kids have been off school using paddling pools etc.!

The garden centres have just reopened after a fashion, but to be honest, I don’t fancy queueing to buy bedding plants, so we have pretty much written off the garden this year.

Enjoy your gardening and reading and stay safe 🙂

    • Hello Yvonne,

You’re right that audio or paper (or ebook!) is completely a personal thing. It took me a while to get used to audiobooks, and while I can’t go without them now, I completely understand while it wouldn’t work for other readers.

I’ve read a few Gilly MacMillan books before, and I’ve enjoyed them. I’d recommend What She Knew, which I believe was her first book, and I really enjoyed the plot.

Have a great week, and thank you for stopping by!

  5. I loved The Nanny. I can’t wait for the author’s next release, which should be in September: To Tell You the Truth.

Enjoy your books! Thanks for visiting my blog.

    • Oh, I didn’t know about her next release, that’s good to know. I’m glad you enjoyed it, I’m confident I will too!

Thank you for stopping by, have a great week!

  6. These both look good. Happy reading.

  7. I missed seeing The Nanny as a daily deal. The cover seems creepy.
Enjoy both your books. Stay safe and enjoy your week!
