Good Monday everyone, and welcome to a more reasonable mailbox this week!

I hope you all had a great week. Mine was quite busy with work, which is always good, and then we were lucky to have a beautiful Sunday this weekend. We planted some flowers and bushes, and with the trees turning green, it’s starting to feel a lot like summer.

Here are the books I added to my shelves this week. One Word Kill was one of my most expected books this year so I’m glad to finally have it, and the sequel is already coming up this week, I believe. I’m also almost done with The Night Before, and enjoying it a lot so far, and I really want to get to We Have Always Lived in the Castle soon after enjoying The Haunting of Hill House so much. As for Strange Practice, I’d been eyeing it for a while, so when I saw it on sale on Audible, I immediately grabbed it.

  1. They all look good. I’m trying to decide which one I’d pick up first.

    • I had a tough time deciding, but I ended up reading the first two this week (The Night Before and One Word Kill) and enjoyed them both! 🙂

  2. Strange Practice is so good! Especially on audio.

    • I remembered you mentioning it, it’s one of the main reasons why I’d been eyeing it for a while. I’m looking forward to it!

  3. We have always lived in the castle sounds really good!!! Did that get turned into a series? That title sounds familiar to me. If so, I need to read the book soon so I can watch it.

    • Update! Yes – We Have Always Lived in the Castle is on Netflix. I think that’s where I found it. So I have ordered the book and it arrived yesterday. Luckily I am between books so I can start on it immediately and then watch the movie or series or whatever it is.

      • Oh, let me know what you think of it! I read that the book inspired the series, but that it’s in fact quite different. I didn’t want to spoil the book for myself so I didn’t even watch the trailer for it! I should probably go do that now.

  4. I’ve seen The Night Before around the blogs. It looks good and I’d be keen to read it. Mark Lawrence is great and I hope you enjoy One Word Kill

    • The Night Before was good, I enjoyed it, as I did One Word Kill (though Red Sister definitely stays my favorite!)

  5. I hope you like The Night Before – I’ve seen it all over lately!

    • I liked it! A bit predictable, I thought, but I liked how it played with the timeline. Thanks for stopping by!

  6. I will look closer at One Word Kill. I have Red Sister to listen to sometime.
We Have Always Lived in the Castle looks interesting.
I picked up Strange Practice too.
    Happy Reading/listening!

    • Red Sister is one of my favorite fantasy novels, I hope you enjoy it too. I actually got it on audiobook too since I’m hoping to reread it at some point. Thank you for stopping by!
