Good Monday everyone!

Hope you had a great week! This week was good for reading, I managed to finish a few books and to write a review for The Good Daughter by Karin Slaughter (which I really liked).

I’m super excited this week because I received one of my most waited for books of the year, The Candle and the Flame by Nafiza Azad. I’ve been following Nafiza’s blogs and Instagram for years, I’ve always loved reading her opinions on books, so there was no doubt I would have to get my hands on her debut novel. Plus, it is strikingly gorgeous and it sounds exactly like my type of book.

It’s a huge mailbox, but I don’t feel too bad about it, as two of these were Audible daily deals and had been on my wishlist for a while (An Enchantment of Ravens and The Rise and Fall of the Dinosaurs), but also, I actually exchanged two of my Audible books after realizing I could get them from the library through Overdrive. I’m usually more careful about this, but with how things have been for the past couple months I think I was too tired to pay attention as much. Looking forward to all of these!

The Candle and the Flame by Nafiza Azad – Wicked Saints by Emily A. Duncan

The Night Tiger by Yangsze Choo (audio) – The Rise and Fall of the Dinosaurs by Steve Brusatte (audio) – The Colorado Kid by Stephen King

A Big Ship at the Edge of the Universe by Alex White (audio) – An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson (audio) – The Binding by Bridget Collins (audio)

  1. Gorgeous cover on The Candle and the Flame – I hope you love it!

    • Isn’t it? I absolutely adored it. Can’t wait to read it! Thank you for stopping by 🙂

  2. Nice mailbox! The Night Tiger looks really good to me.

    • I’ve heard some really good things about it!

  3. Enjoy your books. They are all new to me.

    Thanks for visiting my blog.

    • Thank you for stopping by! I hope you are doing well.

  4. Hi Kay,

I still have a paperback copy of ‘The Good Daughter’ sat on my desk waiting to be read. It was one of the last UK Goodreads Giveaway books I won and I like to look on it as a reminder of good times now sadly gone. Giveaways have only been available in the US for so long now, that I very much doubt if we shall ever see them again outside of there!

Whilst most of your books this week may not automatically fit as amongst my favourite genres, I have checked them all out and found that I am actually very intrigued by ‘The Binding’, although I wouldn’t listen to it in audio.

I also really like the covers of both ‘The Candle And The Flame’ and ‘An Enchantment Of Ravens’.

Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed my short journey of discovery 🙂

    • Oh, I’m sorry to hear about the giveaways! That’s really unfortunate.

Thank you for stopping by! I also enjoy discovering new books, even when they aren’t my kind of books. Like you I get curious about them, and we can always enjoy the covers!

  5. Lots of nice books. I was tempted by An Enchantment of Ravens. I’m trying to slow down on bringing in more books.
Happy Reading with all of yours!

    • I’m trying to slow down too. I was doing so well at the end of last year/start of new year!
