Hello everyone,

Hope you all had a great Easter weekend! I spent mine relaxing, no work. I’m currently on week 3 of my stomach medication, with 5 weeks to go, and I’m doing a little better every week. I have to watch what I eat a lot, so no Easter chocolate – for now! And we had beautiful weather this Sunday. I got to sit outside and read under the sun, and it felt like a little miracle in itself.

It’s not a surprise to anyone I’m sure, but I also added some new books to my shelves these past two weeks. Almost exclusively fantasy/speculative fiction, with the exception of Miracle Creek, which is described as a literary courtroom drama.

The Light Brigade I actually already listened to last week, and it was a fascinating sci-fi/time travel story. Descendant of the Crane and Vita Nostra sound unique each in their own way, and they both have gorgeous covers. And finally, Holy Sister, one of my most waited for books of 2019 with Inspection. I’m looking forward to them all!

Descendant of the Crane by Joan He – Holy Sister by Mark Lawrence – Vita Nostra by Marina & Sergey Dyachenko

Inspection by Josh Malerman (audio) – Miracle Creek by Amgie Kim (audio) – The Light Brigade by Kameron Hurley (audio)
