Hello everyone, and Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians! 😀

Until a few days ago I was still going through a weird reading slump, where I wanted to want to read but couldn’t seem to get the motivation to. But something clicked in my head this weekend and I think next week will be much better in terms of reading.

At least, I did good use of my time in the past couple weeks to review Little Monsters, and then three mini reviews for The Favorite Sister, Bring Me Back and A Noise Downstairs.

I also got an amazing selection of new books that I’m really excited to read. Only two of these are new authors to me: Anna-Marie McLemore, which I’ve been wanting to read for years (and isn’t this cover the most gorgeous thing ever? I’m absolutely in love), and Elana K. Arnold. I’ve read some very mixed and very intriguing reviews about Damsel, it sounds quite different from other YA fantasy. The bottom row is all sequels from series I enjoy.

Now, may the reading slump be over soon!

Blanca & Roja by Anna-Marie McLemore – Broken Things by Lauren Oliver (audio) – Damsel by Elana K. Arnold

The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy by Mackenzi Lee (audio) – Impostors by Scott Westerfeld – Wildcard by Marie Lu

What books did you recently add to your shelves?

  1. I hope your reading mojo returns soon, Kay – maybe one of your new titles.

    • Good news, it’s back! 🙂 Thank you for stopping by!

  2. I’m on the hold list for Broken Things. I hope it comes before the month is out!

    • Fingers crossed for you! I’m looking forward to listening to it, but I have to listen to some others I’ve borrowed first.

  3. Sometimes you just need a break from books. I’m sure the cooler weather will put you in a reading mood. I need to get Impostors for my husband.

    • I agree, taking a break was what I needed. I took my time for other hobbies, which is good too. It’s true the cooler weather does help!
