Welcome to Filling the Shelf, or as many of you know it, Mailbox Monday! If you’re interested in joining the fun or seeing what other bloggers added to their shelves, click away! (but beware, visiting other mailboxes will probably add to your neverending wishlist!)

Good Monday everyone!

Hope you all had a great week! Here we had a bit of sunshine and the snow started to melt (which seems to make most people except me happy, haha!)

My reading has been a bit meh but still msotly enjoyable; however, I’ve had a GREAT week when it comes to receiving new books! The Girl in the Tower is one of my most waited for books of 2018 (and it looks so pretty!) and I can’t wait to read it. I was hoping for a snow day but I’m not sure I’ll get it this winter.

I’m also looking forward to listening A Symphony of Echoes since the first book in the series was a lot of fun. The Belles was a bit more of a spontaneous selection; I probably wouldn’t have picked it if it weren’t for all the positive reviews I’ve seen from trusted readers. I’m really curious to see if I’ll enjoy it or not, so I’ve made plans to read it shortly. And finally, since I love both historical fiction and mysteries, The Scent of Secrets seemed like a perfect addition to my shelves!

The Girl in the Tower by Katherine Arden – A Symphony of Echoes by Jodi Taylor (audio)

The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton – The Scent of Secrets by Jane Thynne

What books did you recently add to your shelves?

  1. The Girl in the Tower has such a pretty cover. I just had to add that and the Belles to my wishlist. Enjoy happy reading

    • It does right? The US edition looks super different but also very pretty. Happy reading and thanks for stopping by!

  2. I don’t think The Belles is my kind of book but the cover really appeals to me.

    • Haha! I’m not sure either. I thought the cover was pretty but not my type, but some reviews had me hesitating. We’ll see!

  3. I’m curious about The Girl in the Tower…and love that cover! Thanks for sharing…and for visiting my blog. Enjoy your week!

    • It’s one of my favorite covers I have to say. Thanks for stopping by!

  4. Ooooo…THE GIRL IN THE TOWER and THE SECENT OF SECRETS are calling my name.

    LOVE the covers.

Thanks for sharing, and have a great week.

    • I’m really looking forward to both, but I haven’t heard much about The Scent of Secrets so I’m really curious about it!

  5. The Girl in the Tower cover is so pretty! Can’t wait to read your review.

    • It really is! I’m really looking forward to reading it. I do need to post a review of the first book too since I loved it so much!

  6. The Girl in the Tower does look good. I agree that the Jodi Taylor series is fun. Hope your reading gets better than “meh”. Have a good week.

    • I’m only starting with Jodi Taylor but I had such a great time! I’m looking forward to see where she takes the story, I can imagine so many possibilities fo rit!

  7. ‘The Scent Of Secrets’ is the one I would choose from your library this week, although whilst I prefer this as a title, I do think that the cover of the UK version is slightly better. I had to do a double take, as the look of the woman on the cover art bears an alnost uncanny resemblance to my own mother in wedding day photographs I have of her back in the late 1950s. The likeness is really spooky!

Thanks for sharing and I hope that you enjoy all your new books 🙂

    • Interesting! The cover for The Scent of Secrets did remind me of an old photograph 🙂
I also need to thank you; your comment had me curious about the UK cover because I thought it was the same image, but I found out that this image is used on book 2 of the UK version. In other words : I bought the wrong book! I guess I’ll have to wait slightly longer before I read it!
