Welcome to Filling the Shelf, or as many of you know it, Mailbox Monday! If you’re interested in joining the fun or seeing what other bloggers added to their shelves, click away! (but beware, visiting other mailboxes will probably add to your neverending wishlist!)

Hello everyone!

It’s been what, 3, 4 weeks since I’ve done one of these posts? Being forced into a blogging break didn’t stop me from accumulating some new books (especially because summer is such a great time for new releases!) During this break, I mostly shared on Instagram the books I received :

I’ve read many of these now, though the only one I’ve reviewed yet is Eliza and Her Monsters – which I absolutely adored! This was such a pleasant and quick read about anxiety, fandom and growing up. Fans of YA contemporary will want to give this one a chance!

And here are the books I most recently received. I’ve been eyeing Annihilation for so long, it sounds kind of weird and extremely different, even for speculative fiction. But I’ve also heard amazing things about The Seven Husbands of Evenlyn Hugo. We have a short summer vacation coming in August and I’m thinking of bringing it then. It sounds perfect to read on a long, sunny day!

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid – Words in Deep Blue by Cath Crowley – The Names They Gave Us by Emery Lord

Leave Me by Gayle Forman (audio) – Girl Out of Water by Laura Silverman – Annihilation by Jeff Vandermeer

What books did you recently add to your shelves?

  1. Words in Deep Blue has been in a few mailboxes – I’m looking forward to reviews! Have a great week, Kay!

  2. I really liked Leave Me but, boy, did some people hate it. It’s thought provoking.

  3. I enjoyed Leave Me…and I am excited about The Seven Husbands….which I also received. Girl out of Water looks interesting, too.

Enjoy! I noticed your previous post, in which you mentioned some issues with images and updating WP. Is this something only self-hosted bloggers must worry about? I’m starting to get nervous here…LOL.

  4. Girl out of water sounds like a good read. Enjoy your books

  5. OOOOOO…you definitely acquired some nice books.

Love the cover on WORDS IN DEEP BLUE.

ENJOY your books and your week.

    WELCOME BACK!!

  6. Nice to see you back! Lots of good books you have picked up. I’ve seen Words in Deep Blue in several mailboxes. 🙂
I’ll have to take a look at Annihilation. Happy Reading!
