Good Monday all!
Another week begins, new books have arrived. It’s heavy in fantasy, which I always enjoy – although right now, I’m enjoying a break from it with one of my favorite authors (Kristan Higgins). Even though I’m not a huge romance reader, she’s the best when it comes to comfort reads, and after finishing The Obelisk Gate, I was too spent to read anything else! Seriously, what a roller coaster it was!
So, these books arrived, a new release and some nice sale finds, mostly. Guys, this will be my third time trying to read Assassin’s Apprentice! I’ve never made it through, though the writing is lovely, I found it to be a bit flat. But, I’ve been recommended it by people with similar tastes to mine again and again, insisting the payoff will be worth it. We’ll see! I’m also excited to soon read Magonia, since it had been on my wishlist for a while!

What books did you recently add to your shelves?
I have not read all of Hobb’s books, but the Tawny Man Trilogy is my favourite so far. One day I will read all the others. I did like Assassin’s Apprentice, but the Tawny Man is after everything has happened and he is older.
I’m glad to know you enjoyed the books, it gives me one more little push to try and get through it. I think that having my own copy, rather than borrowing it, will help too.
Kristan Higgins is definitely a go-to comfort read author for me as well. I hope you love your new books!

My Mailbox Monday
The pretty new covers keep tempting my to repurchase the Robin Hobb books. I picked up A Torch Against the Night from the library, and I finally received my special edition of Soulless by Gail Carriger from Subterranean Press, and it is so pretty!
Oh, I know what you mean about wanting to buy books once more for a new cover! It can be a bit of a pain (I often get this feeling too when the change happens mid-series)
I went and had a look at this special edition of Soulless and wow, it does look pretty! Lucky you! 🙂
