Welcome to Filling the Shelf, or as many of you know it, Mailbox Monday! If you’re interested in joining the fun or seeing what other bloggers added to their shelves, click away! (but beware, visiting other mailboxes will probably add to your neverending wishlist!)

Hi everyone!

How was your week? Here it was up and down. I got a break from work early in the week and enjoyed the nice weather a bit, but as it turned to rain and colder days, I also got a cold. I spent a bit of time in bed, just relaxing and reading, which was still really appreciated despite the circumstances! 🙂

We also watched a lot of movies, all of which I loved : The Big Short, The Bridge of Spies and Spotlight as well as re-watched the new Star Wars – still excellent!

As for books, I got an eclectic bunch this week, including YA, fantasy and literary fiction. Isn’t is pretty how they all sorta fit together in color? I’m excited for all of them, mostly. I got The Goblin Emperor as a bargain after having it recommended to me many, many times. I’m still not convinced but I’ll give it a try! I don’t take many chances with my reading these days, so I am curious to see how this turns out.

  1. I’m glad you’re feeling better. I love your color coordinated covers. I’ve heard The Ramblers is good and I’m drawn to Unbecoming.

    • I’ve heard great things about Ramblers too, I’m looking forward to it!

  2. I caught a cold last week as well – first one of the year (hopefully the last!). I liked The Ramblers and have read wonderful things about the Strout book.

    • Oh, I’m glad to hear you enjoyed The Ramblers. I’m looking forward to it, though I think I’ll start with My Name is Lucy Barton. Sorry about your cold – it was the first of the year for me too, but it’s mostly gone now 🙂

  3. I loved the movie Spotlight….and as I see your array of books, I am reminded that I have The Ramblers and My Name Is Lucy Barton…and want to read them soon!

Enjoy your week…and thanks for visiting my blog.

    • I want to read both of these soon, they’re probably my next two audiobooks I’ll be listening to. Thanks for stopping by! 🙂

    • (I don’t know what I did to post my comment before I made it.) I’d grab the Elizabeth Strout and excuse myself for a few hours. Happy reading!

      • I haven’t read Elizabeth Strout yet, but I’m really excited to get into this one. Thanks for stopping by!

    • I agree, it sounds amazing and I’ve seen some very positive reviews for it too. I’ve read a few chapters at the store and knew I had to read it completely!
