Filling the Shelf – 193
Welcome to Filling the Shelf, or as many of you know it, Mailbox Monday! If you’re interested in joining the fun or seeing what other bloggers added to their shelves, click away! (but beware, visiting other mailboxes will probably add to your neverending wishlist!)
Hello again dear readers!
One week went by, one week without blogging. My last post was, indeed, the previous edition of “Filling the Shelf”. I’ve been thinking a lot about my blogging pace lately and this kind of thing makes me think that, coming into the next year, I might space out these posts a little more. Maybe a monthly edition? Reviews are my favorite part of blogging (reading and writing them) so it’s a true wonder why I don’t write more of them!
It’s a small one this week, with two books. Brandon Sanderson is no surprise, since he’s a favorite – in fact, the surprise is how long it took before I added this book to my shelves!
The other one though, is a true surprise. I never intended on adding Magnus Chase (The Sword of Summer) to my collection. I read Rick Riordan once, and I was sort of disappointed – mostly because I didn’t know exactly what I was getting myself into. This time though, I know. And I really, really wanted to. I grabbed the book at the store, out of curiosity, and read a few pages. And then some more. And then some more again. And then I brought it home. And so far, it’s been exactly the kind of reading candy I needed this week! I feel like I can get out of my head and simply enjoy the ride. I love that feeling!.
The Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan and Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson
What books did you recently add to your shelves?
I hope you enjoy both, Kay. I’ve also been thinking lately about the future of my blog. It may be changing sometime this year. I’ll still blog but the pace may be different. Have a good week!
I’ve thought of making blog changes too but, so far, that’s all I’ve done – think about it. Enjoy your new books – I think my sister would enjoy both of them.
I hope you enjoy your books and your week…this is the time of year when our reading is set aside, I suspect. Thanks for sharing…and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
Pretty covers.
ENJOY!!

Happy reading
I totally have been falling behind on my blogging, too! And reading, for that matter. The holidays are not really holidays because they’re like…10x more busy than usual, haha. I’ve been meaning to get to Brandon Sanderson’s Reckoners series but haven’t. The books just keep coming in and I’m just too slow to get around to reading them. Perhaps next year…
