Filling the Shelf – 151

Filling the Shelf simply is Mailbox Monday, but with a title that suits my blog! If you’re interested in joining the fun or seeing what other bloggers added to their shelves, click away! (but beware, visiting other mailboxes will probably add to your neverending wishlist!)

Happy Monday everyone!

It’s a completely audio shelf this week, all murders and suspicious characters. After a month of reading contemporary YA fiction, I am so craving something different! The Man offered me some new credits on my Audible account for my upcoming birthday (eh, it’s still a few weeks from now, but it’s fun to celebrate a little here and there!) and I already knew what I wanted. I can’t wait to listen to these!

What books did you recently add to your shelves?

photo2 (2)Goodbye July, Hello August!

So July has come and gone. More than the usual “where-has-the-time-gone” complaint, what is striking me is that my long awaited month of reading YA contemporary fiction already is over. And I still have many more to read!

I’ll post a more complete summary of my experience later this week, but I can tell you I had some awesome reading! I read/listened to over 15 books, which is a very surprising number for me as I read almost nothing on week 3.

I am not sure what August will be when it comes to reading! It’s a big month for us; our 11th anniversary is coming this Friday and the Man took the day off to celebrate (don’t ask me what we’re doing; he’s the one planning!) and then there’s my birthday. The Man has 2 weeks vacation at the end of the month, and we have planned a few short trips here and there. So with all this going, I think my reading will get slower; I’d love to read some adult fiction and a few mysteries though.

Also, if you follow me on instagram (@infinitecurio), you may already know this but; I had a little incident this week. Swallowed the wrong potion, ended up in Wonderland. Whoops! Luckily things got back to normal quick and I am no longer trapped in giant furniture.

Wouldn’t say no to some giant cookie, though!

  1. Congrats on a big YA reading month! I Love You More looks like a very intriguing listen, enjoy!

  2. Oh dear! Be careful with those potions! Sometimes the results aren’t so lovely.

    Here’s mine.

  3. Hehe, love the giant chair! Enjoy your new books. I’m curious about Bittersweet. Yay for extra Audible credits 🙂

  4. The giant chair makes you look tiny. I think I need to buy one! It looks like you’re in for some good listening!

  5. What a fun photo! 15 books for July is awesome- I’ve liked following you on your contemporary YA journey. Looks like you have picked out some awesome adult fiction titles for August. I’ve been reading Bittersweet but I kinda wish I had the audio.

    Happy reading and listening!

  6. I’ve been eyeing Bittersweet…and downloaded I Love You More a few weeks ago…can’t wait! Enjoy your week…awesome big chair…LOL

    Thanks for visiting my blog.

  7. Awesome photo!

Happy August. I didn’t realize we were birthday buddies: my birthday is August 16th!

Also happy 11th anniversary. I hope that you two have fun!

  8. Hi Kay,

Thank you for stopping by Fiction Books today. I love ‘meeting’ new people, so your visits and comments will always be valued and appreciated.

I am not a fan of audio books, but you do have a great selection of titles this week …. ‘The Butcher’ is already on my ‘Want To Read’ list, but I shall be adding ‘The Weight Of Blood’ from your haul, so thanks for the recommendation.

My favourite cover is ‘Bittersweet’ and I have to admit to being more than a little intrigued by the possibilities in ‘I Love You More’.

I hope that you enjoy them all …. just a shame that you don’t have a comfy chair that size, to curl up in with your next book.

Happy Anniversary and Happy Birthday …. Enjoy your surprises!!

Thank you for stopping by, too! I, too, love to meet new readers and bloggers; that’s how we get to discover more amazing books and learn about the world, isn’t it? 🙂

I would SO love to have a chair this big to read, with a giant pile of cushions as well! 🙂
