Filling the Shelf – 104
Filling the Shelf is basically Mailbox Monday or the more recent Stacking the Shelves, but with a title that suits my blog! If you’re interested in joining the fun or seeing what other bloggers added to their shelves, I invite you to visit the two hosts!
Happy Monday readers!
We have only five days left (four nights!) before we move and I am SO excited! We have been painting all weekend, as well as celebrating my youngest niece’s first birthday, which has left me with very little reading time. I am SO behind on my galleys and books I received for review, it’s not even funny. I had a few galleys reach archiving date without me having read them, which always makes me feel sort of guilty.
Anyway, some new books still, because once we’re settled in our new place I plan on getting back to my regular reading pace. Well, once the books are unpacked of course (priorities and all that!)
Here’s what I got this week, a bunch of YA novels I had been pining for for so long! I’m a fan of Gayle Forman, and I really enjoyed what Jessi Kirby and Michael Grant have done before. The three other authors are new to me, and I am looking forward to discovering them. Have you read any of them? They’re almost all contemporary, and I am not so sure where to start!
Five Summers by Una LaMarche / Golden by Jessi Kirby / BZRK by Michael Grant
The Catastrophic History of You & Me by Jess Rothenberg / The Disenchantments by Nina LaCour / Just One Day by Gayle Forman
What did you add to your shelves recently?
Glad you’re packing and moving is going well. Moving is so exhausting so it’s understandable that you’re not up to date with your reading. I’m not moving but I’m still way behind on my review books 🙂
I love reading contemporary in the summer and you picked up some good ones! I’ve heard Five Summers is fantastic, and I loved Just One Day. Golden and The Disenchantments are pretty great too. Have a good week, Kay!
I love the Disenchantments cover. It’s sooo summer road trip fun looking.
Good Luck moving and painting! Enjoy your books!
Good luck with the move. I’ve always found that unpacking my books after we move helps me rediscover some gems that might have languished on the shelves for even longer if I hadn’t had to pull them out of a box. They just feel new and exciting all over again. 🙂
They all appeal to me – I wouldn’t know which one to read first!
