Filling the Shelf – 85 or : Christmas in my Mailbox!

Filling the Shelf is basically Mailbox Monday or the more recent Stacking the Shelves, but with a title that suits my blog! If you’re interested in joining the fun or seeing what other bloggers added to their shelves, I invite you to visit the two hosts!

Ho Ho Ho everyone!

Christmas will shortly be here and like every year, I love to put myself in the holidays spirit by reading some seasonal books! Last year was stressful and very busy and I did very little holiday reading. This year, I started later than I wished, but I have some fantastic titles newly added to my shelf (and more than 12 hours of travel by bus to enjoy them…) Some are more christmassy than others, and it’s very chicklitty, but they all look like a lot of fun! I also decided to post early in the weekend, so that maybe it will inspire some of you with Christmas reading ideas!

Also, a big thanks to the Man of the House who offered me most of these as an early Christmas gift <3.

Winter Wonderland by Belinda Jones (I wanted this one as soon as I read it took place in Quebec at the Winter Carnival! I can’t wait to see what the author made of it (I promise not to be too critical!))

Once More With Feeling by Megan Crane  (I read Names my Sisters Call Me in pre-blog era and really enjoyed it, so I’m looking forward to this one. And though it takes place around Christmas, it seems to be about more than that, too.)

Miracle on Regent Street by Ali Harris  (When she hears the store she works at is about to close, Evie decides to add her magical touch to save the place! I’m currently listening to this one on audiobook and it is a lot of fun!)

Meet me Under the Mistletoe by Abby Clemens  (A house swap between two best friends for the holidays; this sounds slightly like the movie The Holiday, which I liked. And I always love stories of people switching lives, whether it is by magic or else.)

A Winter Flame by Milly Johnson (Eve has never enjoyed Christmas; when her aunt dies and she inherits a Christmas theme park, she is not so pleased… This is the one I’m currently reading; it’s cute, fun, and not too heavy on the romance!)

It Started with a Kiss by Miranda Dickinson (This one looks like a cute romance, and since it takes place over a year, I might be able to read it after Christmas.)

What did you add to your shelves recently? Any Christmassy book to recommend (because there’s always next year!)?

  1. Oh Kay! Your lovely post had me clicking on all of these covers which then led me to a holiday chick-lit list on goodreads and from that had me purchasing Twelve Days of Christmas by Trisha Ashley for .99 cents!! I just finished a sort-of Christmasy romance so I can’t wait to read this one. Your hubby was very good to you this year with all of those lovely books!!

    Merry Christmas!

  2. Look at all the Christmas books! 🙂 I’ve never read any of them. I’ve heard great things about Richard Paul Evans, several of his stories are centered around Christmas…maybe for your list next year! 🙂

  3. How fun that you got them for early Christmas presents. Where are you going that you’ll be on a bus for 12 hours? You’re lucky you can read.

  4. I’m in love with your blog! These look so good – I’m very thankful for being introduced to them and hope my friends will be kind enough to give them to me as Christmas presents haha

  5. I loooove how you got so many Christmassy books!! They all look adorable. 🙂 I hope you enjoy them!

  6. There is no better way to get in the Christmas feeling than reading those kind of books! I hope you enjoy them all, they look very adorable 😀

  7. These covers look so holiday-ish! I bet they’d be a joy to read during Chrismtas and New Years. I’ve gotta check some of these out:) Happy reading and happy holidays!

  8. This looks like a nice collection to help you enjoy your bus ride. Happy Holidays!

  9. I love all the covers! I hope they make the bus trip go quickly and you love them all. Merry Christmas!

  10. Thanks for the list of Christmas titles. I am going to start a Christmasy to read shelf. I only read one Christmas themed book this year. The Stupidest Angel: A Heartwarming Tale of Christmas Terror. I did not like it very much. I thought it to be irreverant and stupid. Just me, lot of readers at Goodreads liked it.

  11. What a great post….love all book covers. ENJOY them all.

    Merry Christmas!!

  13. I read Miracle on Regent Street last Christmas and really enjoyed it. The actual story is a bit unbelievable, but as it’s set at Christmas time it just works!!
