Filling the Shelf – 84

Filling the Shelf is basically Mailbox Monday or the more recent Stacking the Shelves, but with a title that suits my blog! If you’re interested in joining the fun or seeing what other bloggers added to their shelves, I invite you to visit the two hosts!

Happy Monday all!

This is kind of a follow-up to last week’s post, where I mentioned that I had added to my e-shelf some galleys from Penguin Canada. I’m super excited about these; they sound different from what I have been reading lately, and I always enjoy a bit of variety!

The Comfort of Lies by Randy Susan Meyers  (The summary says this book “explores the collateral damage of infidelity and the dark, private struggles many of us experience but rarely reveal.” Infidelity is tricky. Sounds like a contemporary fiction with a possibly emotional plot. )

Studio Saint-Ex by Ania Szado  (I’ll admit that this book first got my attention for its setting, which takes place both in Manhattan and Quebec in 1943. Also, it is a fictional account of the life of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, his wife and another young woman. Exciting, is it not?)

The Gypsy King by Maureen Fergus  (A runaway slave meets a chicken thief, who might be more than he appears to be. I like the sound of that!)

A Tale for the Time Being by Ruth Ozeki (Because only the summary can explain why I was called to this one : “In Tokyo, sixteen-year-old Nao has decided there’s only one escape from her aching loneliness and her classmates’ bullying. But before she ends it all, Nao first plans to document the life of her great grandmother, a Buddhist nun who’s lived more than a century.”)

What did you add to your shelves recently? Have you read one of these books?
