New Curiosities – weeks of September 3rd and September 10th
New Curiosities features new books being published in the current week or month, and that I am curious to investigate. While it isn’t a complete list of the week’s new books, I do hope you’ll make some interesting discoveries with me! Click on the titles to learn more about each book by visiting Goodreads!

As you can see, I am combining the first two weeks of September for this week’s Curiosities. My blogging time being very limited in September (back-to-school-season is painful this year!), I have decided to do only two Curiosities postings for the month. Still, there are lots of exciting books coming!

New books coming out for the weeks of September 3rd and September 10th
- NW by Zadie Smith
- Monstrous Beauty by Elizabeth Fama
- Nerve by Jeanne Ryan
Confession time : I have never read Zadie Smith before, but I know I need too. Her new one sounds like it might be a good place for me to start! Monstrous Beauty is a mermaid story, a more twisted “Little Mermaid” I read. Interesting! And Nerve is a sci-fi YA novel where a virtual game turns deadly. You know me, I’m always up for this kind of thing!

- Unspoken by Sarah Rees Brennan
- Vessel by Sarah Beth Durst
- Shadowfell by Juliet Marillier
I’ll do this quick here : these are three books from three favorite authors of mine (Juliet Marillier is certainly on my top 10!). Having them come up with new books all in a two weeks period is super exciting! Paranormal and high fantasy are on the menu; I urge you to click on the titles and learn more on these fabulous books!
Which of these books are you most waiting for? Or is there a book missing from this week’s curiosities that you would like to recommend?
I adore the Vessel cover. It’s so fierce.
I’m really curious about NW too. I tried to read one of her other books, but couldn’t get into it so I put it aside. I’ve heard some cool things about the format of NW that makes me want to try it.
I’ve read all of Zadie Smith’s stuff, including her essays. I love her work. I read an excerpt from NW in The New Yorker, and the form made me nervous. I bought it anyway and have been hearing good things.
I loved the sevenwaters series and then the light isles!! Although the Shadowfell cover is nice…I liked the artist who did her others. The vessel cover is gorgeous!
