Filling the Shelf is basically Mailbox Monday (this month hosted by Metroreader) or In my Mailbox (created by The Story Siren ), but with a title that suits my blog 😀 If you’re interested in joining the fun or seeing what other bloggers added to their shelves, I invite you to visit those two awesome features!

Happy Monday everyone!

I’ve been really excited about the books I’ve added to my shelf this week. Well, of course I am always happy when new books join the older ones, but sometimes it’s just a little happier, you know?

Reason one for happiness : a collection of essays by one of my favorite authors on one of my favorite subjects : Écrits sur l’art,  or “writings on art” by Émile Zola. I usually don’t mention my French additions to the shelves on this blog but this one was just too great to ignore! I had been wishing for such a collection for a while but every time I thought to look for it in a bookstore, I couldn’t find it. I grabbed this one as soon as I saw it, and there might have been some uncontrolled giggling at the time…

Reason two for happiness : the Man of the House brought me book shopping and added three books to my shelves! The Night Circus, which I have read so many great things about, and Witches of East End and Mathilda Savitch, two books from my wishlist that were both on sale. I always love to find unexpected great deals!

The Night Circus by Erin Morgensten

Écrits sur l’art by Émile Zola

Witches of East End by Melissa de la Cruz

Mathilda Savitch by Victor Lodato

What did you add to your shelves recently? Have you read one of these two books?
