Filling the Shelf – 35

Filling the Shelf is basically Mailbox Monday (this month hosted by Amused by Books) or In my Mailbox (created by The Story Siren ), but with a title that suits my blog 😀 If you’re interested in joining the fun or seeing what other bloggers added to their shelves, I invite you to visit those two awesome features!

This week, two books added to the shelf, added on our trip to Toronto. I love getting new books when we visit somewhere, even if it’s books I can easily get here. The only place we went and I didn’t get one was Cuba, and I really wish I did!

Anyway, here are my most recent purchases :

Rebirth by Sophie Littlefield : I made no secret of how much I loved the first book in this series about a post-apocalyptic future filled with zombies. Aftertime has been one of my favorite novels this year. So of course I went and got the second book, though before I start reading it I have to read the novella that takes place in between.

The Nine Lives of Chloe King by Liz Braswell : After seeing the first few episodes of this series, I was a bit disappointed even though I loved the premise. So I hadn’t really planned on reading the books it was based on, but then Tasha posted her review of it and it changed my mind. Also, getting the 3 books in one volume made me feel a little less guilty about the number of books I was adding to the shelves!

What did you add to your shelves recently? Have you read one of these two books?

  1. Never heard of either one. Hope you enjoy.

  2. I loved Aftertime and I am planning to read Rebirth soon! The in-between-novella was nothing special to be honest, but you can give it a go since it’s only a 40 pages or so…

  3. I’ve been watching Chloe King and debating this one. I heard bad stuff though. Good luck! I look forward to your thoughts.

  4. These are new to me. I hope you enjoy them and have a great week!

  5. I’m starting to enjoy a little sci fi, so The Rebirth novel intrigues me.

  6. Have heard a lot of good things about the Nine Lives book. Hope you enjoy both. I buy atleast one book when I’m traveling too but it’s usually from a local author.

  7. Both books are new to me. I hope you love them!

  8. These both look interesting. I think buying books when traveling is a good idea. I love visiting different bookstores when in a different place. It always feels like home in bookstores no matter where they are.

  9. These are new to me too, but the zombie book sounds fantastic! I hope that you enjoy them both, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts on them!

  10. I’m not sure about The Nine Lives of Chloe King. The episodes were done so badly it really put me off.

Can’t wait to see what you think of it 🙂

  11. Chloe King, the TV series, is just plain bad. I watched the first episode and cringed through the bad acting. Hopefully the books are way better.
