Artsy Shelf – 30 – Feels like Summer
The sunny days we had here this week inspired me. I can’t wait for summer to be officially here!
So I went and dug around my folders to find some summer inspired covers that made me feel like summer was here already. Here they are! 🙂
What I love about these covers : the light, the warm tones, the variety of greens, the casualness of the characters, how relax most of them feel. They make me want to take long walks with friends and with the Man of the House.
Dreams of Significant Girls by Cristina Garcia and The Summer Before Boys, by Nora Raleigh Baskin, are probably my favorites. The light, oh the light! Plus, running in a field, sitting by the sea? It reminds me of where I grew up, and the beautiful summers we had.

It feels like summer is officially here in our part of the country! I love the feel of all of those covers.
These covers definitely have me craving some lemonade and a long, lazy day with nothing before me! That rarely happens, but a girl can dream. 🙂 I’ve been in love with the Amy & Roger cover since getting a glimpse of it last year, and that was my beach read last June! Such a great, fun read.
Summer’s only just arrived here. We’ve had absolutely beautiful days for the last two so I loved seeing these covers. 😀 Makes me smile a lot.
all of these book covers look wonderful! its hard to choose a favorite. i’m definitely ready to pack some books into my bag and head to the beach.

I do like that collection of book covers. I may have to check out the one with the vintage car on the cover. And your parameters for the challenge seem very wise.

For me summer covers always feature fields like The Summer Before Boys cover.

I’m thinking that I kind of like all of these covers. Like you, I love the light and the memories that it invokes. I can almost feel the warmth of the sun on my skin by just looking at these covers and it is a lovely thing.
