While in Paris – In the streets

It’s been a little while since I’ve shared pictures of our trip to Paris, and yet there are so many I still need to go through! I think I’ve been doing it so slowly because I feel every time like I’m revisiting it for a small moment.

Today I’m sharing some of the pictures I took while walking the streets. I didn’t take as many as I probably should have, but for the tourist that I was, walking Paris was like walking through history : there’s something amazing and breathtaking to see everywhere you look! I would have had to walk with my camera glued to my eye, but I also wanted to enjoy the walk, so I had to let go of the pictures every now and then. Still I managed to bring back some memories.

If you have some interest in history, I strongly encourage you to research these monuments : the stories of their creation are as fascinating as the stories they tell!

The Place de la Concorde was such a nice place to walk to : we went there by first walking through the Tuileries, from where we had a great view on the Obelisk of Luxor (picture up here) and the Fountaine des Mers (pictures following).

From there, we had a great view on the Arc de Triomphe and the busy Champs-Élysées :

In the Place Saint-Michel, where we walked by almost every day, we were amazed by this impressive monument of the same name : the Fontaine Saint-Michel. It was huge, with always tons of tourists taking pictures, and sometimes a musician or a group of people performing martial arts :

But you don’t need monumental structures to fall in love with Paris 🙂

  2. Your photos are so nice. I have not been to Paris since 1971. It was a very dirty city then, but we still had fun.

  3. I took many pictures of some of those same places when I was in Paris in 1999, but they’re no where near as wonderful as your pictures!

  4. Your photos are gorgeous. It’s been years since I’ve been to Paris, but I’ve loved all the time I spent there.

  9. So beautiful! I just love your photo posts. Can’t wait to visit France someday — my boyfriend has been talking about returning to Paris quite a bit lately! He went on a school trip when he was 15 and fell in love with it… just like I fell in love with London. 🙂

  10. Such pretty pictures! I’m in the middle of Anna & The French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins, so I’ve definitely had Paris on my mind lately. Your update came at the perfect time!

  11. Violet : Thank you!

Diane : After hearing so many times about how dirty Paris was, I was surprised by how clean it actually was. The Man of the House was too ; very different from when he went there as a kid. I guess they decided to clean it up!

Amanda : I’d be curious to see those! But the places just look amazing, they let themselves be photographed 🙂

Kathy : Thank you! We had a great time, I can’t wait to go back too.

    Juju : Thanks! 🙂

Steph : Thank you! I’d go back in a heartbeat too!

Jackie : I use a Canon reflex, 30d, with a variety of lenses. I love it!

Ceri : Aww you’re so sweet! How long were you in Paris? Was it for work, studying…? I spent only a week and felt home too. I’m hoping to go back a.s.a.p.! I use a Canon 30d; really nice camera, I just love it!

Meg : Thanks Meg! I’m sure you would love France too – and you would have a great time taking some of your gorgeous pictures, too! I’m hoping to see London too, one day..

Alitareads : Thanks you! I have this book on my TBR pile and just can’t wait to read it.
