Filling the Shelf – 26

Filling the Shelf is basically Mailbox Monday (this month hosted by Rose City Reader) or In my Mailbox (created by The Story Siren ), but with a title that suits my blog 😀 If you’re interested in joining the fun or seeing what other bloggers added to their shelves, I invite you to visit those two awesome features!

It’s been a long while since I’ve participated in this, and of course I bought many books since. But, I am proud to report that I bought a lot less than usual, which is good news for me since I haven’t been reading this much lately.

This week, it’s more of a virtual mailbox, since those are the books I bought for my eReader in the last couple of weeks. And they’re almost the only books i got this month. One day, I’ll vanquish that TBR pile!

Left Neglected by Lisa Genova : Y’all know how much I loved Still Alice, a haunting novel that made the top of my “Best of 2010” list. I’m thrilled to finally have her second novel, though I fear that I’ll be disappointed. Can Genova work her magic twice?

Unbearable Lightness by Portia de Rossi : It’s really rare that I read celebrities’ memoirs, but this one really interested me – mostly because it’s not an “how I became famous” story, and also because eating disorders (and other mental illnesses) have always appealed to me.

Arranged by Catherine McKenzie : In 2010, I read the author’s first novel, Spin. Can you believe I haven’t posted my review yet? It’s a shame, since it’s all written, and all it needs is to be put in the review form (as is the case with most of my not-yet-published 2010 reviews). Anyway, I really enjoyed Spin, enough that I bought Arranged as soon as I could.

Firespell by Chloe Neill : The first in a YA paranormal series. I read good things on this one.

Which books did you get your hands on recently? Have you read any of these books and authors?
