What I knit

I mentioned that during my absence, I went back to knitting, and I know I’m not the only one around here who enjoys knitting (or crochet, which I haven’t mastered yet sadly!) I thought it would be fun to share what I made of my two hands during that time.

Also, I thought I would mention that I am now finally a member of Ravelry, under the name of Knittikay : so if you are there too, don’t hesitate to add me! And if you knit or crochet and don’t have an account there, I urge you to join the fun too! It’s one of the most useful and fun community I found on the internet!

So first, I knit myself a holiday hat. It’s a bit small but I don’t mind, since I only wore it during Christmas week :

Also, I made a quick Christmas gift for my mom. It’s a very warm and soft cowl, and she really liked it :

Then, I made cute little cloths for my sister, since she had her baby in November. I have yet to meet my niece, but I can’t wait to!

Right now, I’m working on a scarf for the Man of the House, and a hippo toy for my niece. The scarf is brainless work, but the toy is really fun to make! 😀

  1. I am SO impressed with everything you’ve done!!! After such a hiatus it looks like you really dove right in. I love that hat you knit… I’d love to make one like that some day! So glad to see you are rediscovering the joys of knitting… I guess 2010 was that kind of year! 😉

  2. I just added you as a friend on Ravelry. I love the cowl! I must say I never would have made it based on the pic from the original pattern, but I love the colour you chose! I’m very impressed with everything that you knit — thanks for sharing the pics!

  3. The baby cloths are beautiful! I used to crochet a lot, but haven’t done it much recently. My biggest project was a blanket for my mom, and once I finished that I just couldn’t figure out what to try next.

  4. Love the scarf and hat . Great talent Kay.

  5. They’re all beautiful! I especially like the cowl. My mother-in -law made cowls for my daughters (Christmas gifts) and they were thrilled. I’d like to try knitting one for myself but right now I’m working on a baby blanket for my son and his wife (my first grandchild due in July).
I like to make the small cloths and give to friends or relatives when I visit. Always a hit. I love the designs you worked into the pattern. So cute.

  6. Everything’s beautiful, but I really love the hat!

  7. These are great – I wish I had this ability. The cowl is my favorite.

  8. That hat’s so much fun! I also spent most of December knitting – too many last-minute Christmas presents!

  9. Looks great! My friend gave me a similar cowl that she also made herself and I’ve been wearing it for two winters now, a favourite!

  10. I <3 the cowl!

  11. Those little cloths are so cute!

  12. What a great gift you have for knitting. Everything is simply gorgeous!

  13. mmm i LURVE that hat! nice work you do there.

  14. My sister is a knitter but I already have too much on my plate and opted out of learning the trade. Still, I love all the neat things she makes me! I also have to say I love that hat. I’m going to have to get my sister to knit me something like that!

  15. wow you’re amazing!!! i used to crochet back in the day, but i could never finish any of my projects. i’m halfway done with a blanket that i started 5 years ago. ekkk. this reminds me i should start crocheting again and try to finish it.

  16. Ah! That is so cute!!
We just started doing cross stitches at school and at first I was a little pissed at fate and nature and my teacher.
I mean, what use is cross stitching, really?
But I found out it was quite addictive and after seeing your work, I’m excited for our next project!
