Filling the Shelf is basically Mailbox Monday (created by The Printed Page) or In my Mailbox (created by The Story Siren ), but with a title that suits my blog 😀 If you’re interested in joining the fun or seeing what other bloggers added to their shelves, I invite you to visit those two awesome bloggers!
I think I have been settling at a good pace recently; I have actually been reading more than what I’ve been buying! I don’t see visible changes in my TBR pile yet (it’s too ginormous for that), but I’m on a good way I believe!
Here are the books I got my hands on recently :
The Rehearsal by Eleanor Catton : I bought this one out of curiosity, than read good reviews of it. I actually started reading it already and I like it so far!
Feed by Mira Grant : Zombies!!! Need I say more?
The Passage by Justin Cronin : Many bloggers have mentioned that the book is huge; it is. But what many haven’t mentioned is that it’s also written really small! I mean, regular size font, but smaller than most YA novels. I’m keeping it for when the summer semester is over as I can’t imagine carrying this around in the subway! It’s pretty though, a bit shiny and all!
Insatiable by Meg Cabot : As a Meg Cabot fan, I’m really excited about this one. I can’t wait to actually start reading it!
The Sugar Queen by Sarah Addison Allen : I found a hardcover on the bargain shelves at the bookstore and got it for five dollars! Sweet! I’ve heard a lot of good on the author.
Daughters of Fortune by Tara Hyland : Fashion dynasty! Heiresses! Illegitimate daughter! Rich people with lots of Drrrama! I got the ebook for only a couple of dollars, and this sounds good for when I need a book to relax.

I love the cover for Feed. Wow! And The Rehearsal looks intriguing too. I’ve seen a few people on the blogosphere get the new Meg Cabot book. I’m waiting to see what they say about it until I stick it on my list. 🙂 Daughters of Fortune – That should be a laugh. 😀

I almost bought The Passage the other day because I’ve heard so many great things about it. But. I don’t think I can even handle a book that big being on my shelf right now. Just too long. And yes, reading it while commuting might be a challenge – I do lots of my reading on the commute, too. But it may help with building up arm muscles!
