Wrapping up March 2010

So yeah, March is already over! Who knew it would happen so fast?

It was a crazy month for me, the craziest since the beginning of the year! So much has happened, some good, some bad, but in any case, it’s April now! Only three more weeks to this semester and then… we’re off on our one week trip to Paris!

Read in March :

My reading in March was so good, not in terms of quantity but in terms of quality (which, I think we can all agree, is the most important of the two!) I have several great surprises and few disappointments. To give you an idea, I gave an approximative rating out of 5 to the books I read :

  1. Just One of the Guys Kristan Higgins (4)
  2. Incarceron Catherine Fisher (4.5)
  3. Chester’s Masterpiece Mélanie Watt (4)
  4. Before I Fall Lauren Oliver (4)
  5. Shift Rachel Vincent (4.5 – 5)
  6. The Girl with the Mermaid Hair Delia Ephron (4 – 4.5)
  7. Still Alice Lisa Genova (5)
  8. The Dead-Tossed Waves Carrie Ryan (5)
  9. Blankets Craig Thompson (4.5 – 5)
  10. What I Saw and How I Lied Judy Blundell (3)
  11. Alice I Have Been Melanie Benjamin (4 – 4.5)
  12. The Summoning Kelley Armstrong (4)
  13. The Awakening Kelley Armstrong (3.5)

So many 5 stars books, or close to 5 stars, for a while I almost thought I was too generous with the books. But in the end, I just think I had a lucky month. Hopefully April will be at least as good!

Also, at the start of the month, I had talked about 4 reasons why March will be awesome, presenting four books coming out in March I was really looking forward to. I have read 3 of them now, and The Hand that First Held Mine arrived this week, so it should get read soon too.

Reviewed in March :

I had reviewed only 3 books in February, but I did a lot better this month! I’m still not fast enough, but oh well, I’ll get to them some day…

  1. Hate List by Jennifer Brown
  2. Just One of the Guys by Kristan Higgins
  3. Lovestruck Summer by Melissa Walker
  4. Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver
  5. Casting Spells by Barbara Bretton
  6. Secret Society Girl by Diana Peterfreund
  7. Still Alice by Lisa Genova
  8. Zombie Blondes by Brian James

All in all, March was a nice reading and blogging month for me. How was it for you? What was the best book you read? What are you looking forward to reading in April?

  1. You definitely had a great month! I think 8 is a lot of reviews to do. (I don’t review much.) I’m hoping to read The Hand that First Held Mine this month also. Happy reading!

  2. It looks like March was great in quantity and quality for you to me.

  3. The best book I read in March may have been The Dead Tossed Waves. I loved that one.

  4. Salut Kay!
Thanks for stopping by my blog!

  5. Your list is great and I’ve read a few of them. Still Alice is one of my favorite books ever.

  6. March was such a crappy reading month for me I didn’t even post a wrap up! I am glad someone had a good month. I am also happy to have found your blog. Very pretty!

  7. Vasilly : I guess 8 is not bad, but I still review slower than I read! It’s okay though, I promised not to stress myself too much with this.

Kathy : It was! I love months like this.

Brenda : I think it was for me too, or close too. It was a tie between this and Still Alice.

Staci : I can see why! It was a really great read, very emotional too.

Fredalicious : It was a great month! I wish they were more all like that!

Pam : I’m so sorry to hear that! And thank you for your comment, I just discovered yours at the same time and love it! 😀

  8. It looks like you picked some high quality books to read in March! Hopefully April will be just as successful. I don’t know how I missed your review on Still Alice. Will be reading that right away. This is why I like monthly wrap up posts 🙂
