4 Reasons why March will be awesome

I am very excited that March is finally here. I know I usually sigh about how “time goes too fast” and “I didn’t see that month go by”, but February was a stressful month and I am glad it is over. Plus, four of the books I am the most looking forward to are coming out this month. Can you say, awesome reading? Here they are :

The Hand that First Held Mine by Maggie O’Farrell, coming March 15.

I have read (and loved) Maggie O’Farrell since I read her first book, After you’d gone. Ever since, I have been “stalking” her and waiting anxiously for each of her books. After you’d Gone is one of my favorite books ever, and while I never loved another one of hers this much, her writing always amazes me.

Before I fall by Lauren Oliver, coming March 2.

This book has received so many great reviews already, I couldn’t not preorder it. Seriously : this book is supposed to be so great, even Lenore’s cats fight over it!

The Dead-Tossed Waves by Carrie Ryan, coming March 9.

I loved The Forest of Hands and Teeth, and I am looking forward to reading this second book. I’m curious about the fact that it’s not a sequel, but a different set of characters.

This world we live in by Susan Beth Pfeffer, coming March 24.

Life as We Knew it blew me away and haunted me (I still think about it quite often) ; The Dead and the Gone wasn’t as shockingly good (but a bit more gory). I am extremely intrigued by the idea of having the characters of both books reunited in this final opus.

Are there books you are specially looking forward to this month? What would you had to this short list?

  1. Kay, I had the good fortune of reading The Hand that First Held Mine for the April issue of BookPage, so look forward to my review then! All I’ll say now is that I LOVED it!

  2. I’ve not heard of the first one but I want to read the last 3 for sure!

  3. Oh how I want to read Before I Fall! March really is a good book month. I haven’t read the Moon series yet. I need to get cracking on those. At least if I wait until the third one comes out I’ll be able to read one right after the other. At least that’s the excuse I’m sticking with for the moment.

  4. LOL! Emmy sure stood her ground!

  5. Kay…all of these look really good. thanks for mentioning them.

  6. Steph : Oh, I am so envious now! Luckily, I only hae two more weeks to wait for the book, and not too long for your review either!

Staci : I’m sure these 3 will be great, too! The ARC reviews I got to read were mostly positive.

Alita : I think it’s a great idea to wait for all books in a series to come out, otherwise the wait is just painful.

Lenore : Yup, she did! And adorably, might I add.

Diane : My pleasure! I love to share the books I’m waiting for.

  7. I am waiting on the same ones!!! Cannot wait to see your reviews!

  8. The cover of The Hand That First Held Mine is so gorgeous, and I love that title! Adding it to my wishlist. And I’m super excited for This World We Live In, though I haven’t read The Dead And The Gone yet! Just picked it up from the library today and starting it next week. Can’t wait!
