Filling the shelf – 13

Filling the Shelf is basically Mailbox Monday (created by The Printed Page) or In my Mailbox (created by The Story Siren ), but with a title that suits my blog 🙂 If you’re interested in joining the fun or seeing what other bloggers added to their shelves, I invite you to visit those two awesome bloggers!

So it’s been a while since I haven’t had a “filling the shelf” feature (almost two months, in fact) and let me tell you, this does not mean that I haven’t received any book since! On the contrary, the holiday season has been very prolific, and so I decided I would spread this over a couple of posts. So here’s part one!

Spin by Catherine McKenzie : I discovered this one at the bookstore and was even more interested when, after searching through the internet, I discovered the author lived, like me, in Montreal. I was really disappointed that I missed the books launch since I was stuck home with a cold, but I can’t wait to read it!

The Outlander by Gil Adamson : I read many great reviews about this historical fiction, and I love the idea of reading more Canadian fiction.

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini : I received this one from my father-in-law for Christmas and was really excited! I have been wanting to read it for so long, I can’t wait to get to it!

Seven days in the Art World by Sarah Thornton : I borrowed this one from the library a long while ago and never got the chance to read more than a few pages. This goes with my objective of reading more non-fiction and more art-related reading outside of university.

Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl : This book was barely on the shelves that it received great praise not only from bloggers, but also from various stores and magazines. It looked interesting (I like paranormal YA) so I thought I would give it a try.

Juliet Naked by Nick Hornby : I love Hornby’s writing but it’s been a while since I read anything of his. I have to say, I LOVE this one’s cover. It took me a while before I realized those were profiles, but once I did, I just loved it!

But enough about me! What got onto YOUR shelves recently? 😀
