Sunday Salon : on Slow Reading and Books
Hola book bloggers and readers!
Another week over, and time is now definitely passing by faster than I would wish it to. My midterms are on the corner and as a result, I am (supposedly) spending my time studying and working on papers. More school work = less time for reading, and so I have read only 2 books this week.
My blog has slowed down a little, too, and while I was previously updating on a daily basis, this week I skipped a few days. Nothing dramatic there though; my mom used to say “if you’ve got nothing to say, don’t talk”, which is a very clever advice if you want my opinion! I guess it’s normal that, as the reading slows down, so does the blogging.
The good news is, I am a huge procrastinator! So my study time yesterday afternoon looked something like this : 5 minutes studying, 10 minutes looking at lolcats, 5 minutes studying, 10 minutes blogging, repeat. So, I wrote 3 and a half reviews in that afternoon! My to-be-reviewed pile is getting a little smaller, and I have a few posts ready to be posted for those days when I really have nothing to say. Go me!
Today though, I really can’t afford more procrastination. I’m putting the books aside and, hopefully, studying plenty!
Books Read this Week
- Nice Girls don’t Date Dead Men by Molly Harper
- Girl Stays in the Picture by Melissa de la Cruz
With the stress from upcoming tests and papers, I have turned to extra-light and fun books. It’s the perfect way to escape!
Books Reviewed this Week
- Life as We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer
- Switch by Carol Snow
Other Blogging things this Week
- A summary on “To Summarize or not to Summarize“, after your answers on my previous question
- A new comic : The Book Blogger’s Monologues
Glad to hear the to-be-reviewed pile is going down! 😀
Good luck on the midterms!! I like your mother’s advice…I should practice that one more!! 🙂
I’m in the same boat! My reading has slowed down quite a bit so my posting has, too. It’s no worries! 🙂 Good luck with studying!
I had a slow week too.
