The Artsy Shelf – 6 – On the grass

We finally had a few days of sun this week, which made me feel all “summery”! It feels like a perfect time to present this selection of covers figuring people – and a dog! – laying on the grass.

I would have a really hard time picking a favorite for this one. In the end, I think I would go for The Virgin Suicides cover : I love the design, the picture, the title, and it really grabs my attention. I’m also in love with Secrets to happiness’ cover; doesn’t this dog look like the happiest dog on Earth? Don’t you just want to give him a good bellyrub? I do!

My other two favorites are Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac (I love the contrast of hot pink with green, and the title’s font), and Pshyc Major Syndrome, which looks simple and has a very cute title design.

Shug is so colorful and fun, too, but in the end, it looks a little too young for me (I’m definitely not the public it’s been designed for, though 🙂 )

Now it’s your turn! Which one is your favorite?

  1. Every time I see that dog on the grass I just want to rub it’s tummy and toss a ball it’s way. LOL.

Lying on the grass looks so inviting. Unfortunately my allergies would have me in a tissy.

  2. So perfect for summer! I agree. . . The Virgin Suicides cover is my favorite.

  3. Awwwww, that dog kills me. I love it. I really want to read that book now just because of the cover.

I love The Virgin Suicides <3 A really great book … And I've heard Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac is quite good too.

  4. I’m going to have to go with Secrets to Happiness because of the cute dog!

  5. I really love Secrets To Happiness, too! I saw it in a bookstore and it immediately caught my eye — it’s a bold cover. And that dog is definitely adorable!

I like the cover for Psych Major Syndrome, too — it’s almost whimsical.

  6. I love the Eugenides cover! 🙂

And it’s odd that we choose that one to be the summeriest… when you consider its content.

  7. My faves are both The Virgin Suicides and Secrets to Happiness, too. Love this set, Kay, so green and alive!

  8. I love Gabriel Zevin book.

    Peace
    Michelle
