Filling the Shelf – 3

“Filling the Shelf” is in fact a “In my mailbox” but with a title that suits my blog. 🙂 Click here to see what others have in their mailboxs!fillingshelf3

All things considered, this was quite a reasonable week. Right now I read about 4 books a week, so getting “only” 4 books in a week is… ok. That means that, even though the TBR pile is not getting smaller, it’s not getting bigger, either; it’s stable. Stability is good!

The Widow’s Season and Cut Short both came in for review, and I should have read these soon. In fact, I’ve already started with The Widow’s Season since it came sooner this week, and so far it’s good! I think I’ll go through that one fast, I really enjoy Brodie’s writing; it’s poetic, beautiful. As for Cut Short, I will probably get to it next week. I have no idea what’s waiting for me since I haven’t seen a review of it yet.

Vampire Kisses : Yes, I am starting another vampire series. I can’t stop myself, it’s like a sickness! It’s still a wonder that I didn’t fall under the Twilight spell (I blame Bella! And the sparkly skin!). This one is about a goth girl who’s dream is to be a vampire; that sounds fun! As for Uglies, I finally decided to give it a try after reading great reviews from book bloggers I really trust. It’s really not something that was appealing to me at first, so I’ very curious to see whether or not I’ll enjoy it.

  1. I’ve got Vampire Kisses and Uglies in my library tbr so look forward to your thoughts. I didn’t recognise V Kisses initially as I have the older cartoony cover version.

  2. Yay Uglies! Really, if you like dystopian fiction, this one is good. If you’re not a bit dystopian fan, it’s sort of hit or miss.

  3. I’ve been lusting after the Uglies series and The Widow’s Season. I hope you enjoy them!

  4. Karen : I’ve seen those covers on the internet, and they’re nice! But I don’t think they’re on sale anymore? Not around here anyway.

Amanda : I really love dystopian fiction, it’s one of the genres that fascinates me the most. Hopefully Uglies won’t be the exception!

bermudaonion : I’m well into “The Widow’n Season” now and my mind hasn’t changed from the start : it’s really worth lusting after! 🙂

  5. Great books! Enjoy and happy reading!

  6. I got The Uglies recently, too, and hope to find time to read it soon! I am jealous you are reading Nefertiti as I am wanting to read that as well. The Widow’s Season looks interesting as well.
