News from the Curio – 14

Hi again, lovely readers!

Snow, books, and cat hat!

I can’t help it, I love winter! Even when I’m whining about the cold, inside, I am secretly – okay, not so secretly! – bouncing up and down in joy. I love winter, the snow, the cozy sweaters and the big scarves, the heavy boots and the hot chocolate!

It’s also the perfect season for knitting, and so I have been working my needles every chance I get. I got this super soft alpaca yarn recentely, and made it into a cute and simple cat-hat (I call it the alpacat). Soooo soft. Yum.

I also have been reading! I’ve been pulling “older” titles from my shelves, books I’ve been wanting to read for months and years! It feels good to get to the old stuff, even though all I’ve read isn’t all great. If all goes well, this week should finally see a review pop up on the blog. Fingers crossed!

Filling the Shelf – 157

Filling the Shelf simply is Mailbox Monday, but with a title that suits my blog! If you’re interested in joining the fun or seeing what other bloggers added to their shelves, click away! (but beware, visiting other mailboxes will probably add to your neverending wishlist!)

It’s quite a varied selection being added to my shelves today, with one audiobook (gotta listen to Mindy Kaling’s unique voice!) and three ebooks, in very different genres! I must say, I am THRILLED to be reading something new by Courtney Summers, however short it is!

Please Remain Calm by Courtney Summers – The Half Life of Molly Pierce by Katrina Leno

fillingshelf157b

I Am Having So Much Fun Here Without You by Courtney Maum – Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? by Mindy Kaling (I can’t help but thinking that these two books’ titles sorta answer each other! Haha!)

What books did you recently add to your shelves?

  1. Maybe if I knew how to knit, I would like winter, but I just hate the season! I hope you enjoy your new books, and I really think Please Remain Calm has a great cover!

  2. You know, I liked winter until I moved to this part of the country. I loved winter in Wisconsin. I loved snow. I loved the cold. But over here on the east coast, it feels so much colder because of how damp everything is, and getting 5 feet of snow in two weeks just isn’t cool, heh. 😀 Love that hat, though!

  3. We have lots of snow at the moment… I enjoy watching the dog run around and jump in it. He comes in with snow all over his face. It’s cute!

  4. Cute hat! Enjoy your new books.

  5. I hate winter so I’m glad we’ve had a pretty mild one so far. Stay warm!

  6. All 4 books look great and I’ve only heard about the first one. I must check the other 3 right away. As for winter, oh, I don’t like it much. I am more of a summer kind of girl. I only wish for next winter to get to read the last book in the Starbound series (by Amie K. and Meagan S.), LOL ;))

  7. I like the Fall and Winter better than the Summer or Spring. I love your hat. That is a great photo. Your books look great! Have a great week!

  8. I am curious about Please Remain Calm…and The Half Life of Molly Pierce. Enjoy them all…and thanks for visiting my blog.

  9. I LOVE I Am Having So Much Fun Here Without You. It must be a fun read.

ENJOY all your books and your week.

    Adorable hat.

  10. Great books. They’re all new to me. We haven’t had any real snow since Christmas. It’s so weird. Yesterday it was 55 degrees. I had my windows open and short sleeves. I wouldn’t mind more snow, but at least we’ve had some rain! Have a great week.
