Filling the Shelf – 20
Filling the Shelf is basically Mailbox Monday (created by The Printed Page) or In my Mailbox (created by The Story Siren ), but with a title that suits my blog
If you’re interested in joining the fun or seeing what other bloggers added to their shelves, I invite you to visit those two awesome bloggers!
This here is my July mailbox : I think it’s the first month in a long time that I actually read more books than I added to my TBR pile! This is mostly caused by my wallet suffering from emptiness, but also by a real effort to get my pile of books smaller by the end of the summer. I’m beginning to see a small difference (it’s a really small one, though : the Man of the House doesn’t believe it really exists!) and it feels great.
So here’s what I got in July :
Water for Elephants : I have been planning on reading it for a while so when I found it for 5$ as an ebook, I grabbed it. There’s been so much hype that I’m a bit fearful to get into it. I also don’t know what to think of the fact that the movie will star Reese Whiterspoon and Robert Patterson. This sounds like a weird match to me, but who knows?
Love walked in : I got a cheap copy of Belong to me recently, so of course I had to get Love walked in, which is the first of the two books. I’m happy I finally get to read them!
Think of a number : I used to read a lot of crime fiction when I was a teen, mostly because it’s almost all my mom reads when it comes to fiction. I thought this look interesting but the 30$ hardcover scared me; then, I found it for 3$ as an ebook! When I got my ereader, I never considered it as a way to get cheap books, but I’ve stumbled on some really great deals recently and I’m glad I have it!
The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms : This one got good reviews from fantasy readers and I’m always happy to add some fantasy to my reading 😉 Also, this is one of the few genres that the Man and I both enjoy, and sharing a book is always fun.
Endless Summer : I read Going to Far recently and really liked it, and I’m looking forward to reading this one too.
Changeless : I read Soulless and though I didn’t love it like many people did, I enjoyed it enough to give the second book a try.
Have you read any of these books? Which one should I read first? And what did you get in your mailbox recently?
Great covers – LOved Walked in looks awesome – enjoy the books 😀
I haven’t read Water for Elephants yet (although it’s been sitting on my shelf for a while), but yeah, Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson totally sound like an odd couple to me. But maybe that’s the point?
I loved Love Walked In! I hope you enjoy it and the sequel.
Happy reading!
They all look good! I’m hoping to read Water for Elephants soon – I want to read it before the movie comes out.
Love Walked In! It’s a wonderful book!
I love the cover to Love walked in – shall have to check it out…!
Oooo Water for Elephants…enjoy!
Love Walked In was sweet – I liked it. I also read Water For Elephants ages ago and liked it (loved the ending).
Oh, boy — I need to get to reading Water For Elephants, too! I have a copy in my bookcase, where it’s been for months (years?), but somehow I keep putting it off. Maybe if I catch a review of yours, it’ll push me to finally grab it. 🙂
I just managed to get Changeless from Paperbackswap. I thought Soulless was great fun, so I can’t wait to read it. I need to read Water for Elephants too.
