Filling the Shelf – 10
“Filling the Shelf” is in fact a “In my mailbox” but with a title that suits my blog. Click here to see what others have received in their mailboxes!
Because one never has too many books, I have gotten new ones again in the last couple of weeks!
Black Ships and Hand of Isis by Jo Graham : I am very excited about those two! I’ve been wanting them for a while. Both set in an Ancient History setting, I’ve seen them categorized as “historical fantasy”, whatever that means (I’m getting more and more confused by all the “genres” classification!) I’ve read a part of each already, and I can’t wait to get into them for real.
The Farseekers by Isobelle Carmody is book 2 of the Obernewtyn series. Despite a few faults I really enjoyed the first one, and I finally found it at the bookstore. The last book I got this week was Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger. I liked, not loved her first book but I’ve been intrigued by this one after reading the reviews.
What about you? What did you get this week?
I just recently bought Obernewtyn and I’m sure I’ll end up buying the sequel too.
I’m totally jealous of Her Fearful Symmetry – I hope y ou enjoy it!
Hmmm…I want to read Her Fearful Symmetry…curious to hear your take on it after reading.
Nice selection 😉
I just got Impossible Motherhood Testimony of an Abortion Addict. Of course I want to read it right away but can’t.
Ooh, I’m so jealous you got Her Fearful Symmetry! I really want to read that one (but then I loved her first book!). Enjoy your reading!
Lenore : I hope you’ll enjoy it (or have enjoyed it if you read it already!) I thought it was really original, and I can’t resist dystopian fiction!
Kathy : I hope so too!
A Bookshelf Monstrosity : From what I read in the reviews, I think there’s a chance I’ll actually enjoy it more than her first novel. We’ll see! 🙂
Juju : I try! With so many book I want to read, it’s always hard to pick what to buy next!
Nicole : Wow, that title really grabbed my attention; I went to see what it was about and now I’m definitely adding it to my TBR list. Thank you!
Avisannschild : I liked her first book too! It was really close to “love” in fact, but for a few things. I remember a shopping list of some sort for a party? And a few things like that. But from what I’ve heard, HFS sounds more like my type of reading. I guess we’ll know very soon!
