A Winter’s Respite Read-a-Thon!

A Winter’s Respite Read-a-Thon!

Last summer, I joined Seasons of Reading’s summer readathon and thought it was so much fun to officially dedicate a week to reading. It helps to focus on a goal and make it public; this is how I managed to catch up with 2013 a little in December. I was excited when I saw the winter readathon would be happening this week and just knew I had to join! The Man is away for work so I have all the time needed to go through my infinite...

Read-a-Thon starting line!

Read-a-Thon starting line!

It is starting! And I am a bit late to it. Silly me forgot that noon GMT meant morning for me, and what I thought was me waking up with an early start was in fact me waking up late to join the fun. Woopsy! The Read-a-Thon starts with this little meme that I always find really fun, so here are my answers : 1)Where are you reading from today? Montreal, Canada. More precisely, from my couch or the computer chair. Probably from under our cat,...

Read-a-Thon in 3, 2, 1…

Finally Dewey’s 24H Read-a-Thon is arriving! And this is the perfect occasion to try to knock down part of the paper brick wall! I haven’t had the chance to join the fun since April 2009 so you can imagine how much I’m looking forward to it, even though I have participated in similar events since. And because I am so excited, I have already grouped together the books I plan on reading : Obviously I won’t get to read all...

Impromptu Readathon – Wrap up Post

Impromptu Readathon – Wrap up Post

So this is it, end of the line of this little impromptu readothon! Since I didn’t get any reading done on Saturday (got sick in the day and received friends for dinner), I took the liberty on reading though Monday too. And while I didn’t managed to complete the three books I was aiming for, I did manage to read some of the short stories that I had accumulated on my ereader. All in all, a great reading weekend! 🙂 * Books Read...

Impromptu Readathon!

Impromptu Readathon!

April from Good Books and Good Wine is holding an impromptu read-o-thon this weekend and it seemed to me this was the perfect weekend to relax and read. It’s nothing formal or filled with rules; just sign up, pick some books and read to your heart’s content! It’s a great occasion to catch up on some books you need to review or, like me, to try and take down the infinite pile(s) of books awaiting to be read. Since the Man of...

My Read-a-thon – Finish Line!

My Read-a-thon – Finish Line!

This is it! I went through my read-a-thon and achieved mostly what I was hoping for. Well, a little less maybe, but I’m not complaining : I read just a little 11 hours when I was planning for 12. I finished 3 books and began a fourth, for a total of 658 pages. This makes a total of about 59 pages-hour, which sounds a little slow for me, but close enough to reality. What I read : Finished reading Santa Olivia by Jacqueline Carey (95...
