Good Monday everyone!

Hope you had a good week, despite everything that’s going on in the world.

I’ve been finding comfort in books a lot recently. I read a lot this past week – and even managed to put down my thoughts for In a HolidazeMostly I’ve been craving more romance novels, which is kind of strange for me – I usually read them on occasion, when I’m feeling down or anxious, but right now it’s all I want to read. I noticed I also read several of them in 2020, but maybe it makes sense with everything going on.

I really enjoyed Romancing the Duke by Tessa Dare, so I went ahead and got the next 2 books in the series. To be honest, I’m not a huge fans of the romance covers with shirtless men but they do amuse me! 🙂

So here are the books I received this week, most of them thanks to a Christmas gift card. I already read the Holly Black and loved it, and I’m looking forward to Dark Tides as I really enjoyed the first book.

Stay safe everyone! <3

How the King of Elfhame Learned to Hate Stories by Holly Black Dark Tides by Philippa Gregory – Kingdom of the Wicked by Kerri Maniscalco (audio)

These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong – Hollowpox by Jessica Townsend – Rebel Rose by Emma Theriault

Say Yes to the Marquess and When a Scot Ties the Knot by Tessa Dare (audio)

What did you add to your shelves this week?

  1. Enjoy your books and your week! I like the look of them all.

    • Thank you! Hope you had a good week!

  2. I love those book covers, but I have to agree with you about the romance ones. Sigh, must they be bodice-rippers? LOL So, I’m in Montreal and I work in la Monteregie Ouest. I’ve been more anxious too and reading more. I hope you love all your new books!

    • Yes, the covers! I really have to talk myself into read them because the stories usually entertain me.

I’ve lived in Montreal for 10+ years, but now Im in les Laurentides. I’ve definitely been reading more too. Thank you for stopping by!

  3. Love the mix of books on your shelf including the romance. Happy reading.

    • Thank you!

  4. Dark Tides was a great read. Even better than the first book in my opinion. I’ve been looking for light romance reads lately. I like the fact that I can be assured of a few smiles and a happy ending.

    • Oh I’m so glad to hear you enjoyed Dark Tides this much! I loved the first one so I’m really looking forward to this.

It’s the same reason I turned to romance too, I want something that makes me smile right now.

  5. I agree that I am not a fan of the naked men, nor lots of skin on the females. I really do prefer the tamer romances.
The Holly Black cover made me look twice.
I hope you enjoy more calm with Happy Reading!

    • Yes, I’m okay with pretty women in pretty dresses (love many of them in fact), but the half-naked men make me want to not read the books, This one isn’t too bad but still!

Thank you for stopping by 🙂
