Hello everyone,

Hope you are doing good! We had such a nice weekend here, perfect to just sit outside and read. I started reading Mexican Gothic and I’m absolutely enjoying it. It’s pulled me right out of the reading slump I’d been in for a few weeks.

I didn’t post any review this past week, but I did share a list of the Top 10 Books On My Fall TBR. I love reading mystery novels in the fall, so that’s mostly what’s on the list.

Here are the books I added to my shelves in the past couple of weeks. And yes, I do completely adore sea otters! 🙂

Stay safe everyone! <3

Don’t Look For Me by Wendy Walker – Lakewood by Megan Giddings

Anne Perry and the Murder of the Century by Peter Grahams (Audio) – The Henna Artist by Alka Joshi

Sea Otters: A Survival Story by Isabelle Groc – Return of the Sea Otter by Todd McLeish

What did you add to your shelves this week?

  1. Hi Kay,

I keep trying to work through my slump, which seems to have been going on since lockdown started here in the UK, right back in March. There are so many different rules, depending on which part of the country you live in, which is really confusing when you think that Britain isn’t much bigger than Florida in size, although with many more people!

The weather has now turned decidedly autumnal and although the sun was out over the weekend, the wind was raw, so you really needed to find a sheltered spot if you wanted to sit out. This week is set for mostly rain and it is chilly enough for some heating too! This has come as a shock after the long dry, warm spring and summer of lockdown, so I can foresee plenty of depressed people being stuck indoors for the next few months!

Wow! What a great selection of books, definitely something for everyone. Given the rise of the BLM movement, I am really drawn to ‘Lakewood’, especially with that amazing cover art. However I’m not sure whether I could handle the emotions in might stir right now, so I’ll make a note of it and keep that to one side.

The one which is definitely heading for my list is ‘Don’t Look For Me’, along with all the remaining books by this new to me author. This is definitely my kind of storyline!

Thanks for sharing and have a peaceful week 🙂

    Yvonne xx

  2. Yay for getting out of the reading slump! Don’t Look For Me is on my wish list. Have a good week, Kay!

  3. I hate getting in a slump. It’s great you got out.
I loved DON’T LOOK FOR ME. I thought it was one of the best I’ve read.
Have a great week. Stay safe!

  4. Ooo, yes, I enjoyed Mexican Gothic too. Perfectly creepy for the season.

  5. We’ve been having perfect sit outside and read weather also. You have to love a book that pulls you out of a reading slump. Here’s hoping you get to read many more just like it.

  6. I’m glad you found a book you liked. You have a new set with variety. Don’t Look For Me sounds like a good thriller.
Have another good week and Happy Reading outside or inside!
