Welcome to Filling the Shelf, or as many of you know it, Mailbox Monday! If you’re interested in joining the fun or seeing what other bloggers added to their shelves, click away! (but beware, visiting other mailboxes will probably add to your neverending wishlist!)

Happy Monday everyone !

First things first: I failed my goal of publishing two reviews this week. I reviewed Karin Slaughter’s Pretty Girlsand that was it. This coming week, then?

I did have a good reason though: we had grass sowed and placed this week (we’re doing about half with seeds, half with turf) and I’ve spent all of my free time (and some more) watering. And watering. And moving the sprinkler. And watering.

This gave me a lot of time to listen to audiobooks though, and I sped through Something in the Water (appropriate title!), which was a lot of fun. A good thriller for the summer. Oh, and I added some other books to my shelves, too – all audio except for one. I’m especially looking forward to I’ll Be Gone in the Dark, it’s right up my alley and I’ve mostly heard amazing things about it!

Something in the Water by Catherine Steadman (audio) – The Bird and the Blade by Megan Bannen

I’ll Be Gone in the Dark by Michelle McNamara (audio) – Flame in the Mist by Renée Ahdieh (audio)

What books did you recently add to your shelves?

  1. Another of my friends loved Something in the Water. Good luck with the grass growing!

    • It was a really entertaining thriller! I recommend it.
And thank you. We’re starting to see a few green sprouts here and there!

  2. Ooh, what delightful titles! I’ve been wanting to read I’ll Be Gone in the Dark…and I placed a library hold on it.

Enjoy your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

    • I’m really looking forward to reading it after all the good things I heard about ti. I’m planning on reading it soon.
      Thank you for stopping by!

  3. I hope that watering pays off. These all look good but The Bird and the Blade would be my pick I think.
    Happy Reading!

    • Yes, today we’re finally seeing the first few green tips sprouting out of the ground! So I think it’s starting to pay off 🙂

      Thanks for stopping by!

  4. Flame in the Mist has a great cover

    • I agree! The original hardcover was super pretty too, but this one is quite striking, as it the cover of the sequel.
