Welcome to Filling the Shelf, or as many of you know it, Mailbox Monday! If you’re interested in joining the fun or seeing what other bloggers added to their shelves, click away! (but beware, visiting other mailboxes will probably add to your neverending wishlist!)

Good Monday readers !

I can’t believe we’re just one step away from May! I’m ready for it though. We’re making plans for our house and it’s exciting; things like sowing the grass, planting flowers, trying to decide how we want to setup our backyard. Things we never got the chance to do before. It’s a lot of work, but (mostly) the fun kind.

And now, the books! I have a huge mailbox this week, but it’s two weeks worth of books. Most of these are authors I’ve read before so I’m really looking forward to reading them again – especially Maggie O’Farrell, who is one of my favorite authors. I’ve been following her work for years (it’s been so long I actually read her first few books in French translation, because at the time I didn’t read in English!) This one sounds slightly different from her previous books, and I’ve already heard great things about it.

I Am, I Am, I Am: Seventeen Brushes with Death by Maggie O’Farrell – Circe by Madeline Miller

The Hunger by Alma Katsu – The One by John Marrs – The Good Liar by Catherine McKenzie

The Marrow Thieves by Cherie Dimaline – 13 Minutes by Sarah Pinborough (audio) – The Good Daughter by Karin Slaughter (audio)

What books did you recently add to your shelves?

  1. Circe does look good!

    • Yes! And I’ve almost only heard positive things, too. Looking forward to it!

  2. Ooh, have fun with The One!

    • Thank you! Your review was the final push I needed, I’m really intrigued by the idea of it.

  3. I’m hearing lots of great things about Circe.

    • Yes! Even the “negatives” I’ve read were still quite positive. I’m really looking forward to it.

  4. I loved The Good Liar…and I’m looking forward to reading the Maggie O’Farrell. I also love her books.

Enjoy! Thanks for sharing…and for visiting my blog.

    • I’m glad to know you enjoyed it, I’ve read books by Catherine McKenzie a few times and always had a good time. Thank you for stopping by!

  5. I really want to read Circe. Did you read Song of Achilles? I loved it.

    • No, I haven’t read Song of Achilles though it’s on my (infinite) list. I think the hype around Circe got to me a little 🙂 But I’ll definitely read it if I enjoy Circe!

  6. Circe is supposed to be fantastic. I cannot wait to read my copy of The Hunger.

    • Yes! I’ve heard great things about it. I’m really looking forward to it!

  7. That’s a good-looking list. Enjoy them all!

    • Thank you! I’m really looking forward to all of them 🙂

  8. Lots of good books. I took a second look at The Hunger and see that is horror. Ugh.
    Happy Reading. 🙂

    • Ha! Yes, the cover doesn’t necessarily scream “horror”, does it? I like it though (now I need to know if I like what’s inside too!)
      Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
