Filling the Shelf – 211

Welcome to Filling the Shelf, or as many of you know it, Mailbox Monday! If you’re interested in joining the fun or seeing what other bloggers added to their shelves, click away! (but beware, visiting other mailboxes will probably add to your neverending wishlist!)

Hello all!

I know, I know : my lack of reviews is disturbing. Lately, even more than before, this blog has been mostly about books received and not books read – even though I still read much! I spend way too much time thinking about what I’d say in my reviews and taking short notes, and not enough actually writing the reviews. But for the first time in a while, I’m not feeling too guilty about it. I said I wouldn’t pressure myself about the blog in 2016, and surprisingly I’ve been good about it!

I’ve got some new books this week. I’ve finally decided to take a chance on Me Before You, because even the most cynical of my favorite bloggers & vloggers seem to have enjoyed it at least a little. I got this one, and discovered The Stopped Heart, while in Calgary this past week. I can’t visit a new place without getting a new book! I also added Touch, because I need more Claire North in my life, and The Other Widow, because I enjoyed the author’s previous psychological thriller.

  1. It’s no surprise that I really liked Me Before You. I hope you enjoy it when you the chance to read it. Have a good week, Kay.

  2. Oh, I think you will enjoy Me Before You. I am rather cynical, and not inclined to read “Women’s Fiction” or “Romance”, but this is a beautifully written book that literally made me cry at the end. I don’t want to see the film and spoil the impression the book has made.

  3. The Stopped Heart looks good.

I read The Other Widow…I liked it…I hope you do too.

    Have a good reading week.

  6. Enjoy your new reads
