Welcome to Filling the Shelf, or as many of you know it, Mailbox Monday! If you’re interested in joining the fun or seeing what other bloggers added to their shelves, click away! (but beware, visiting other mailboxes will probably add to your neverending wishlist!)

Hello and happy Monday all!

How was your week?

Mine has been blue: not in spirit, but in books! I would say it’s mostly coincidence. In fact, most of the top of my wishlist right now is either in tones of blue or orange. A lot of new 2016 releases are sporting shades of blue; in fact, I’ve been thinking about doing a post about some of my favorites covers soon. It’s been a while since I did something similar, so that might be fun!

I’m really excited by this week’s mailbox, both because I got many of them on sale or at reduced price, and because some of them I’ve been wanting to read for a long time!

The Nightingale and Station Eleven both sound incredible and have received amazing reviews, and I had been eyeing them for a long time. On top of my reading list are The Traitor Baru Cormorant (again, amazing reviews from trusted fantasy readers, with bonus points for being a standalone novel) and All the Birds in the Sky, which sounds very unique. It got mixed reviews, which only helps make it more intriguing to me. I’ve already started with Where Futures End: its premise also is very unique, told through five stories which, by the end, should conclude together. I’m not very far in but I really enjoy this one’s writing.

  1. Congrats on finding great sale books!

  2. II have heard Station 11 is a good one. Enjoy all your books!

  3. Yay! Fairest and The Quick are both awesome – though my copy of The Quick is red!

    • You review of The Quick was one of the few I read on the books (I went to check back to make sure, ha!) and it definitely made me want to give it a chance. I’ve heard so little about it but I was intrigued.

  4. Nice mailbox! I’m more than a little jealous of Salt to Sea.

  5. The blues do have it this week! I love the cover on All the Birds in the Sky. I also loved The Nightingale, and I’m eyeing Where Futures End. Enjoy!

Thanks for sharing…and for visiting my blog.

  6. Such gorgeous covers! As I read your blog, I was reminded of Susan Abulhawa’s ‘The Blue Between Sky and Water’. Its cover is a wonderful blue too. 🙂

  7. Salt to the Sea sounds like a good read. Have a great week.

  8. Great mailbox! I enjoyed The Nightingale. I hope you do too. Have a great week Kay.

  9. The Traitor Baru Cormorant sounds good. I’m hoping Salt to the Sea is as good as I’m hearing it is because I loved Between Shades of Gray.
    Enjoy your new books!

    • I heard great things about both of these books, so I’m definitely filled with expectations about these!

  10. Beautiful covers.

    ENJOY!!
