Filling the Shelf – 165

Filling the Shelf simply is Mailbox Monday, but with a title that suits my blog! If you’re interested in joining the fun or seeing what other bloggers added to their shelves, click away! (but beware, visiting other mailboxes will probably add to your neverending wishlist!)

Happy Monday readers!

How are you? How was your week?

Mine was quite busy, with lots of work on finishing one big project (which went quite well!). Then we had my mom spending the weekend with us, which is always a good time and doesn’t happen often enough! I’m always happy to see her, but this weekend I was especially glad to; it’s a bit of a tough time for her this year, with death and sickness striking the ones she loves, so being able to give her a real hug felt really, really, really good. It doesn’t feel like it is nearly enough though…

Now, on to the books! I haven’t added more recently, except for Johanna Basford’s coloring books!

Secret Garden and  Enchanted Forest by Johanna Basford

These books are simply gorgeous! I almost didn’t want to color them once they arrived – but I got over that feeling quick, and I have been having a blast coloring while listening to podcasts and audiobooks.

I’ve also discovered I’m quite a slow colorer! I’ve spent over an hour on the big green and orange flower; close to an hour on the other big ones. And this page has so. many. flowers! I guess it’s good, since I don’t feel in a hurry to finish my page: these books will last me a long time for sure!

For anyone hesitating on getting one of these coloring books : do it. It’s serisouly addictive, and fun, and a good way to put the stress away for a few minutes every day – one flower at a time!

  6. Oh, I would really like to try those coloring books! What a fun idea! And good job staying between the lines 🙂 Love your color choices.
Glad you got to have a nice visit with your mom. Mom’s are the best. Have a great week!

  7. Oh, oh, oh! I saw these written about on someone’s blog last week, and I quickly looked them up. Now to find them here on your blog, and so beautifully colored, just thrills me. I have taught for over 30 years, and I still love coloring…new pencils…fresh books. How lovely!

  8. Mom time is always good! I love coloring, and I’m so happy when my daughter lets me color with her, but maybe I need to get my own for when she’s not in a sharing mood.

  9. I have been seeing these all over the Internet lately, and now I must have them. They are just so gorgeous! I always thought coloring was cathartic and better than the most intense workout for helping you relax mind, body, and soul. It’s time to get my coloring on!

  10. Hi, beautiful blog! I found it while searching for a photo to use for my own blog/website. Hope you don’t mind I used the photo of your coloring, while I linked back to the page? If you mind, let me know. In any case, I do hope to come back to your blog to see what is being added to the shelf! http://www.thezagrebtimes.com/coloring-books-as-anti-stress-therapy/
