Filling the Shelf – 152

Filling the Shelf simply is Mailbox Monday, but with a title that suits my blog! If you’re interested in joining the fun or seeing what other bloggers added to their shelves, click away! (but beware, visiting other mailboxes will probably add to your neverending wishlist!)

Happy Sunday readers!

I’m seeing blue – but not feeling blue, fortunately!

After a very long wait, I finally got my hands on used copies of two books very high on my wishlist : Shine Shine Shine (which for some reason I keep typing Whine Whine Whine – not exactly the same thing, is it?) and The Lost Girls – Three Friends. Four Continents. One Unconventional Detour around the World. I have been craving traveling this year almost incessantly. Even though our trip to Indonesia is still quite recent, I’d be ready to go again right away! But, it takes money and our cat would miss us. Therefore, I’ll be traveling through books!

I also received egalleys of A Sudden Light and The Wonder of All Things. Exciting!

What books did you recently add to your shelves?

Anniversary, Zoo, Summer!

The weather was great this week, which was really great news because this Friday we celebrated our 11th anniversary! Yay us!

The Man of the House, in all of his awesomeness, planned a little surprise for us. I did end up sort of guessing what we were doing before, but it was still so exciting! The Man has been working a lot recently; evenings and weekends after long days of work, and even though the extra time is worked at home, we haven’t had the chance to hang out much recently. So this day of celebration was more than welcomed. And, we love going to the zoo. I’ll have pictures to share soon, of course; but meanwhile, have a look at the zoo’s cute flamingos!

  1. Your new books look terrific! I love your zoo picture!

  2. Definitely lots of blue covers there, hopefully they won’t all be blue books. They are quite pretty covers, even though I have not heard of them. Oooon flamingos, I love visits to the zoo as long as the animals have spacious areas and lots to do and I look forward to your future posts on the trip!

  3. Flamingoes! Cool shot 🙂 And happy Anniversary!

Your blue books are very pretty. A Sudden Light caught my eye. The cover reminds me a little of Rooms by Lauren Oliver.

Enjoy your books & have a great week!

  11. Happy anniversary 🙂 I’m curious about The Lost Girls.

  12. Hi Kay,

Favourite colour blue by any chance …. or do you just like to see colour coordinated posts? … LOL!

Whilst none of your books would be on my immediate wishlist, I am intrigued by ‘Shine, Shine, Shine’ and can see why you have wanted to get your hands on a copy.

I am not quite so keen on the zoo, however we have some great wildlife parks around where we live, where the animals roam freely in spacious surroundings and are not too hassled by the visitors.

Flamingos have to be one of the prettiest of birds, but boy do theu make a racket when annoyed!!

Glad you had a relaxing time out and have a good week with your new books,

    Yvonne

I want to read A Sudden Light…loved The Art of Racing In The Rain.

Jason Mott’s book should be good too.

ENJOY all your books and your reading week.
