About the Book :
The Bakersville Burier knows he’s got an FBI profiler on his trail. He knows who she is and where to find her. And he’s biding his time, because he’s planned a special punishment for Evelyn. She may have tracked other killers, but he vows to make this her last chase. This time it’s her turn to be hunted!
My Thoughts :
Fans of Criminal Minds will quickly feel at home in this new series about profiler Elvelyn Baine. As a fervent watcher of the show, I was excited to read a story taking place at the “BAU” even if it wasn’t related to the show and its characters.
I had a great time with the mystery itself. I was intrigued by the killer, and there was enough action and twists to keep me reading. It’s always thrilling when the killer sets his sights on the main character rather than being a distant character, and this one was no exception. I also enjoyed the profiling part, though I have very little real knowledge of what profiling entails.
Where I felt let down though was with the characters – and most importantly Evelyn. I felt she was very bland, and I had a hard time warming up to her. I liked that she had something in her past, too, but in a way I didn’t feel it was necessary. I wish Evelyn would have been more developed, more complex as a character, so that I would care more for her.
Overall Hunted wasn’t a bad read; while it left me feeling slightly underwhelmed, I am sure many readers will enjoy the young female protagonist and the creepy killer she is hunting for.
