For the longest time, it was really hard for me not to finish a book. In the past few years though, I have been learning to let go of the guilt and do what I want a little more. No one will know, right?

(except for the books, of course…)

  1. I love this! I am a lot better than I used to be, though. I just don’t want to get stuck reading something I don’t like when there could be something awesome waiting for me.

  2. I used to be really good about finishing books. Any book I picked up I’d plow right through. Any book I’ve picked up this year though has been a struggle to finish. Once I hit a rough patch in the book, I set it down and pick up a new book. But then, I’ll hit a rough patch in the new book, so I’ll set that one down too and pick up another new book. Next thing I know, I have five partially read books! I don’t know why I can’t get into the groove of reading this year. Eventually, I finish the book, but it takes me a looooong time. I read Dark Parties by Sara Grant this year. It’s a short book, but it took me about 6 months to finish.

  3. That comic is me!!

  4. Love it! I used to always finish every book I started, but no more. It is so freeing to put books down. And yes, to skip to the end if you have to 🙂

  5. Yes! I have felt guilty but totally skipped to the end from time to time.

  6. I love this because I find that it is so true of my own reading experiences.

But even when I severely detest a book, I don’t think I ever really regret forcing myself to see it out.
