Filling the Shelf – 116

Filling the Shelf is basically Mailbox Monday or the more recent Stacking the Shelves, but with a title that suits my blog! If you’re interested in joining the fun or seeing what other bloggers added to their shelves, I invite you to visit the two hosts!

Happy Monday everyone!

I’m having a bit of a cold this weekend and so my reading has slowed down a little – as has my email reading. Uh! Can you believe that, two weeks after we came back from our trip, I still haven’t caught up with my emails? I’m getting there though, slowly, slowly…

Books still arrive though and it’s a very exciting week once more! Two books from the Man as a late birthday gift, two books bought with a gift card from my best friend (love ya Annick!) and two almost unexpected galleys.

Night Film by Marisha Pessl / Omens by Kelley Armstrong

(Like many other readers, I have been very curious about Night Film with all the buzz it received and let me tell you the book itself is gorgeous! I’m thinking I might start it this week. As for Omens, well, I love Kelley Armstrong and this new series sounds exciting!)

All Our Yesterdays by Cristin Terrill / The Shade of the Moon by Susan Beth Pfeffer

(These are the two books I bought with my gift card; All Our Yesterdays just sounds original and thrilling, and I so loved Susan Beth Pfeffer’s series that I had to get this latest one. I’m a bit wary of it since I thought the series concluded with the third book, but we’ll see!)

Bellman & Black by Diane Setterfield / Red by Alison Cherry

(And two galleys! I was super excited to get an invitation for Diane Setterfield’s novel (have you read its summary? It sounds amazing!) As for Red, the premise sounds original but it could go either way.)

What did you add to your shelves recently?

  5. I love the cover for Omens. I haven’t read any of Armstrong’s work but I would like to check out the description based on what I see there. I am looking for some good spooky reads as well. It looks like it could fit the bill.

  7. ENJOY Bellman and Black…I am really looking forward to it.

I don’t know what I have received since I am out of town, but I did attend a Hachette Book Event and received 9 books. I will report about those books on next week’s Mailbox Monday when I return.

Actually my husband just called and told me I received SIX books. I said please tell me the titles, and he said he didn’t feel like opening all the packages. 🙁 Oh well…it will be an even bigger surprise.
