Filling (and unfilling!) the Shelf – 95

Filling the Shelf is basically Mailbox Monday or the more recent Stacking the Shelves, but with a title that suits my blog! If you’re interested in joining the fun or seeing what other bloggers added to their shelves, I invite you to visit the two hosts!

Hello beautiful readers!

What a crazy mailbox week! Ten new books were added to the shelves this week – 10! That’s what happens when you shop at bookcloseouts.ca (8 new books from my wishlist for a very reasonable price) and start reading a captivating series (Rebecca Lim’s Mercy).

Sometimes, I fear that I will run out of space on my shelves. While technically I could always buy more shelves, I feel like adding more would cramp our little living space. So until we buy a house with a built-in library (the dream!) I try to be careful about the books I chose to keep. When I can’t get into a book after multiple tries, or if a book doesn’t create any strong emotion in me, up onto the “needing a new home” pile it goes! As of right now, here are the books I have selected since February, and which I will soon part with :

That’s 51 books waiting for the great departure! That’s more than I added to my shelves in 2013! Woohoo! It’s also exciting to think that these books will get the chance to be read by people who will appreciate them more than I did.

Well, now on to the new stuff I got this week. Awesome reading ahead, I’m sure!

  1. Woo hoo for finding books you wanted at bargain prices. In the past, I’ve had trouble letting go of books but I’m getting much better about it now.

  2. You go girl! I’m proud of you!

And I love that Muse cover.

  3. The problem is every time I see the books on your shelf I want them. Oh what a beautiful problem that is, hehe

  4. I really liked Slide and Hemlock! Oh and Article 5 too, I really want to read Tiget Lily I have heard fantastic things about it. I hope you enjoy your awesome haul!

  5. Doesn’t it feel great to do a book purge now and then? I have very little shelf space so I can relate 🙂 Awesome bookish bargains this week! I haven’t read any of them yet but I’ve had my eye on Tiger Lily for quite some time. The Rebecca Lim covers are gorgeous.
    Happy reading!

  6. So many wonderful books! Funny thing is, I usually get a book from the library, read it and only then, if i like it, do I add it to me library. I absolutely hate spending money on a book I’ll end up hating. Especially since i have so little of it. Haha. I would love to see pictures of your book shelves!

  7. Love the cover of Tiger Lily. Happy reading!
