Artsy Shelf – 39 – A Red Touch

Here at the Infinite Shelf, it has never been a secret (however shallow that statement may sound) that book covers do matter! It often is the first chance a book has to lure us into reading it. The Artsy Shelf features interesting covers that share a similar characteristic : it can be a color, a detail, the model’s pose, anything!

Black, red, white, pink : my four favorite colors. If a book cover has any of these colors as a main feature, there is a big chance I’ll take a second look at it!

I really like the almost monochromes covers, with just a touch of color – especially pink or red!

I really like The Butterfly Clues cover; I can’t remember what the book is about, but its cover is mysterious enough that I know I still want to read it. The butterfly shape with the blood spatters remind me of the Rorschach test. Even thought I wasn’t much of a fan of The Other Life, I absolutely love its cover. That’s one creepy butterfly!

The four other covers win my heart for different reasons though : not only do I love the colors, I also love the winter theme. All is Bright (a short story I read and LOVED) is my favorite of them I believe. I love the quiet peace of it!

What about you dear readers? Do these covers get your attention? Which one do you prefer?

  1. I think “The other life” is the prettiest cover. I might even wanna check it out on goodreads haha. Thanks for this post 🙂

  2. The covers are all great! I find the cover of The Butterfly Clues a little disturbing.

  3. Love this. White makes red so striking.

  4. Love this collection, though I must admit the two butterfly covers don’t do much for me!
